Question says it all, so let the games begin.

Hunting? Don't be a wise guy, what do you hunt with a knife?

Name it!

Sorry Bud,

But, you're too late. The family of John Ek sold the rights to the name to Blackjack Knives, which has since gone under.

As has been said, the Ek family sold the name to Blackjack and Blackjack has since gone out of business. John Ek made knives during WWII and for conflicts after that.
BTW-if you're interested, see my post in Knives for sale/individual under production and custom for sale. I have an Ek fighting Bowie listed there.

As I understand it, someone in the EK family continues to make Ek knives in Virginia but they do not have a web site. They advertised an address to write to for information, but I lost it. Perhaps someone in that area may have some more information.

Folks,

Again the search feature will turn up tons of stuff on Ek. A quick synopsis:

John Ek was the original. His son Gary still makes knives out of Miami. After John died, the tradename went to Ek Commando Knife Co., which was manged by Vince Signorelli. Later BlackJack Knives acquired the Ek line and then went bankrupt. However, the old Ek Commando Knife Company operates a museum (Lombardy St, Richmond, Va.) and still makes knives of their original pattern available to collectors and interested parties.

Details can be found in old threads.

I'm so happy I just picked up the EK pig Sticker (looks like one of those cheezy double edge throwers) it is solid and it was only 35 dollars, last time I saw them were in the usCav catalog before it turned to crap. It was being sold at over 100 dollars a piece.
