Do HI make custom jobs?

Greetings all.

Having one khuk from HI I am slowly beginning to feel the urge for another one, the Chiruwa Angkhola seems most interesting fot the moment.

But my question is, does HI take custom requests? Lets say I want a mini Chiruwa angkhola or some khuk with totally unpolished or even unfinished blade? I have sent an e-mail to Yangdu about this, but perhaps some of you have personal experiences of this?

Yes they do. I placed an order for a modified Chitlangi about two months ago.

They can probably make what you want, but consider Nepal's political problems and the fact that your special item is being made literally on the other side of the planet.

Patience is a virtue.

But anything good is worth waiting for, yes?
 
Thanks for the reply. Yes I am aware of the situation in Nepal, I really hope that the unrest will stop someday, the folks there do deserve so much better. Since 1-2 weeks ago things has been a little better as I understand. I do hope it will last.

Ok, have to think what I really want first, then I`ll contact Yangdu about the details, cost, timeframe etc. :)

Edit: What timeframe did you get, 2-3 months from placing the order or?

That's what I did. I thought of all the possibilities and decided what I was really looking for was a modified Chitlangi. I didn't go too fancy with it. It's something I know the kamis know very well how to make.

Well, I didn't get a time frame LOL. I reckon I'll get it when I get it ;) but I'm in no big hurry. I have other khukri's to play with until it arrives.

Mine was a very large chiruwa Ang Khola. The unpolished/unfinished blade you speak of is what they call a "villager" and if fairly common.

Also keep in mind that what you see on the website and the deals of the day here isn't all she has.
More than once I've asked her to have something made and she had exactly that, or something close, in stock.
