Good day all. Long time lurker, first time posting. I am a hobby knifemaker and Bladeforums has provided me with an unbelievable amount of information and knowledge and I appreciate all who contribute. I usually search for something and lo and behold a ton of info. This is the first time I have not been able to find the answer to my question so I hope yall can help. Long story short, I found a Strider in a pawn shop and assumed that it was a fake immediately. The tiger stripe is all wrong, it is like painted on and not a result of sandblasting off the oxide like the real ones. And the stop pin, while it is press fit looked cutoff and pretty crude. But the rest felt real. I talked to the guy for a while about it and he questioned the authenticity as well. He had it for a long time and wanted to get rid of it so he gave it to me for $40. Got home, took it apart and it doesnt make sense. The handle seems real. The frame and clip are non ferrous. It has the knurled screw retainers and the lock bar has a finger groove relief that the fakes dont have. G10 is accurately textured and has the interior of a real one, as in the blade stop is integral and not a pin. It has had some work done too. Tritium screw insert and the lock bar is carbidized. The blade has the radiused lock face. It takes and holds an edge much better than a cheap blade would. And it came with the Strider OD pouch. So, I was hoping you guys could take a look and lemme know what you think.

It's a fake.
The fakes are really good, the details are what the cloners get wrong.
The flying penis stamp is all wrong.
The S30V stamp is wrong, the U.S.A. stamp is wrong. The real ones don't have the periods.
And of course, the blade finish is all wrong.

Thanks for the reply. I figured the blade was fake but the handle seems real. Thoughts?

The handle is real, real titanium. Sadly not real Strider. The Chinese counterfeit shops are making fake knives using higher end materials and increasingly advanced manufacturing techniques. They are even making an integral titanium SnG out of China.

The real deal
