Hi,

Recently I was playing with a knife (bad decision I know, but it was entirely blunt, save for the very tip. I also was playing with my dog around a similar time. After 5 minutes or so I noticed a slightly swollen cut on my leg. It hadn't bled out, and it looks like what happens when I get cut by my dog's claws by accident. Either way, I'm wondering if I'm vulnerable to getting/have got tetanus from this incident. It wasn't a deep cut at all, about as deep as a mild papercut.

Sorry for the lack of structure in this question, I'm just getting really paranoid...

EDIT: The cut has already closed up, after only 5 seconds roughly.

The Spyderco Delica/Endrua is an excellent choice for an entry level, quality knife. It has excellent value for its cost, and it's a good stepping stone before venturing in to more expensive knives like the Paramilitary 2 or Military. The VG-10 steel happens to be a favorite of mine, giving a good balance between edge retention and ease of sharpening. Between the Delica or the Endura, it really just depends which fits you better. And of course, check your local laws to make sure the blade isn't too long.

Probably paranoid, that said, go make sure your tetanus shot is up to date and you can stop worrying.
Seconded. ^^ Staying up on tetanus shots is a good idea for anyone who likes to play outside.

"Tetanus is different from other vaccine-preventable diseases because it does not spread from person to person. The bacteria are usually found in soil, dust, and manure and enter the body through breaks in the skin — usually cuts or puncture wounds caused by contaminated objects.

Today, tetanus is uncommon in the United States, with an average of 30 reported cases each year. Nearly all cases of tetanus are among people who have never received a tetanus vaccine, or adults who don’t stay up to date on their 10-year booster shots."
