Ok, I know the answer. But what I'm realy asking is if I got a fbmle how much would I be missing out on if any. I know there is some stuff out there about this but it's been a few years that the ff, le have been out and I would like to see what everyone thinks now .

I don't think anyone NEEDS two big choppers; there's little you can do with one that you won't be able to manage with the other. Variety just makes life more enjoyable :) Like the next ten people who's posts will follow mine, I say get em both!

Let me try to understand your question. Are you asking if you would be missing out on anything if you bought a flat grind FBMLE vs a saber grind FFBM?

I have seen preferences for each of the different FBM models over each of the others depending on who you ask. I prefer the FBMLE over the FFBM because it is lighter, has better balance and has a satin finish and Tiger Hide Micarta.

I had a guy come up to the counter at Blade last year and pick up a FBM with an astonished look on his face and said to me "I do not need a knife like this" and I replied "Which is exactly why you should have one". And then he bought it!!!

Just get both. You wont be disappointed plus then you can have one to look at and one to use. LOL. The LE is lighter if that is a concern but the saber ground version is a beast that can take on a tank and walk away the victor.

You've already made up your mind. Let me be the first to congratulate you on your new FFBM whatever one it may be.

I bought the FBMLE. I don't feel the need for the FFBM now, but needs do change...

Rob, you make a great point Brother and I'll add the question is NOT do I really need this but it's do I want this. Folks you go through life once, LIVE IT don't begrudge yourself something because of that old "I really don't need this". Would you like it?, Do you want it? GET IT and as they say jump in with both feet and enjoy. Life is to short not to have and enjoy some of those thing that make you feel good. If you buy it and just don't like it, Sale it, no harm no foul. I know personally and learned the hard way!!!

Nope you do not need any more Busse's ever.

Man some of you guys are forgetting the Hog mantra............."No Regrets"

Finally the voice of reason. I 'll keep telling my self that , and see how long that last:) . Was sorta hopeing to get a ffbm vs fbmle thing going we just need aztim to counter snwbrdr s sweet pics.

There are needs and wants in life.
We need water, air, etc.
We want a nice car, a big house, etc.
One thing I am learning about Busse knives is that you want your first, and then need the rest. It's a wonderful sickness.

Hmmmmm... to be honest, I had my FFBM for about three months. Fondled it, admired it and then... sold it. For me the balance was not right (talking about the 0.27 saber grind version). Apart from that it is just crazy heavy. It's a mean destroyer that will crash anything in your way - but I couldn't think of a practical application where I'd prefer it over my other knives in the same category (e.g. CGFBM, B11, NMFBM).

However, maybe I'm just not man enough yet to appreciate this beast. :(

My impression from the reviews on this forum is that the FBMLE gets far more praise than the FFBM. I don't have an FBMLE so my added value in this comparison is fairly limited, but my assumption is that you don't miss out at all if you skip the FFBM. If you want another chopper wait for the LBNMSHBM :D
