Do I Need It?

I am happier than a coon dog on a bare leg because this is now in my shop

I had been quenching in peanut oil and was about to throw it out, but was wondering if I should keep it for slower steels like 5160.

Is Peanut Oil too fast, or will the P50 be good to go with 5160?

50 is to fast for 5160 imho. your peanut oil would be fine for the 5160

I never had any problems with 5160 in the P50, but then again I am heat treating in a forge.
