Do I need to keep the lanyards to use the CRK pouches?

Good afternoon,
I'm considering buying the pouches from CRK to protect my incoming Umnumzaam and small 21 Sebenza - however I usually remove the lanyards since I feel like they get in the way of switching grip and I wonder if the pouches were too deep or tight for the knife to be pulled out without lanyard.

Thanks for your time!

Nope, you can do it without but I find it's better with. I also find that the pouch doesn't seem fitting for the Umnumzaan. I like that clipped or pouchless. The Lg. Sebenza's I have both get pouches and lanyards.

No, you dont Have to have the lanyards on. The mnandi does not have a lanyard and its easily retrieved from the pouch. The small sebenza will be just as easy. I have never carried my umnumzaan in a pouch, but I have had large sebenzas in the pouches and all have been easy to remove.......Just a note that it might be more difficult at first since the pouches are newer and stiffer. The pouches conform to the knives pretty quickly and you will find it much easier then to remove them.

Its way better if you do not use any pouches and scratch them up while you use them. They also look kooler all scratched and used! This is just my opinion.

yea i always take lanyards off when i get knives, they just seem to get in the way to me and i dont use them to pull the knife out anyways, but i dont usually use pouches either except for my leatherman.

Isn't the Umnumzaan's lanyard pin held in place by the lanyard running through it's cross-hole? It seems loose.

I carry all of my CRK's - that means my Wilson Combat 'zaan - in a Benchmade bag. Of course, it, like my other pocket knives, is clipless - stows nicely in that admittedly thin bag.

The nice thing about owning one CRK... your next purchase of a CRK will double the size of your collection!

Thanks everyone for their feedback -
Stainz, I'll try the Benchmade bags.
