Do I need to use Loctite?

I have a Paramilitary 2 and I've loosened the pivot screw a little to make the blade flip open quicker. Is it necessary to use loctite or just leave it be?

If the screw is loosening on its own then it would help. If it is staying put then its not necessary.

My BM 710 would loosen up after 5-8 openings so i put some on and it never moved again.
Some of my Emersons would slowly loosen after maybe 20 openings. It never bothers me because it just takes a slight turn with my thumbnail to get it right.
So it depends on the knife and your preferences.

The big hardware-type stores...Lowe's and Home Depot have it in three or four (colors) strengths. Stay away from the highest strength, as it might take a torch to loosen it again. I "think" that the purple strength is a milder one and can be loosened with ordinary tools when/if you want to. There should be a chart next to where it is sold, and that will help.
I've used the mild on handguns...front sights, etc... but NEVER used the RED.
I've never felt the need to use it on knives, although some guys use it on the pivots once they've got it where they want it.

I used the blue one and it worked perfectly. Held strong and was easy to break for disassembly. Didnt even have to reapply after.

Purple is the best but harder to find. Blue is OK. If you use anything more (red, green, black) be prepared to send the knife in to Spyderco when you strip the Torx screws.
