Do I really want a BM Contego?

Ok, so I am by NO means a BM fan as some of you may know, based on a bad experience I had with them a while ago. But a coworker asked me if I would sharpen his Contego for him and guess what? I kinda liked it! Just can't bring myself to pull the trigger on one. Anyone have any experience with this model that can convince me of I really want one or not?

I love mine but I fear there will be something wrong with the one you get. Having already said you are not a fan of the brand I would suggest you look at a ZT or other brand. That way you have a clean start and no preconsived notions about the product.

I’ve been using/collecting a variety of BM’s for over 15 years now and my favorite is the 810. Great knife and great design aesthetics, you’ll love one.

Great, great knife. Feels good in the hand for such a large knife. If you are looking for a large tactical folder that can take most anything you can dish out: get an 810...

I had the M390 version. I liked it but sold it because to close with the axis, I had nothing to grab on except for the pocket clip with my pinky and ring finger. Every other Benchmade sits on my palm when closing. I prefer the Adamas 10x more.

I sharpened one also for someone, and I was actually kinda impressed with it. I'm not in the market for one, but if I was looking for a harder use, slightly larger folder but not Adamas big, I'd get a Contego and would prefer it over the 710 which I do own.
