I'm currently dailying my Buck Mayo and I love it. But I need something more.

I am a knife enthusiast, but I don't want to have 10 expensive folders to choose from. I already have a few but I think I'm ready to made a reasonable purchase for a do-it-all folder that can be used for most any situation, and that is made out of something that is durable enough to depend on when shtf.

My friend recommended the s30v Buck Mayo since he knows I love my current 440c(i believe) version. But I have a few guidelines, the more the better...

Must haves

• Relatively compact size to fit in any style pants
• Sturdy construction
• High Quality blade material ie. D2, S30v ect.
• Cord/harness/seatbelt cutter
• Window Breaker/skull basher
• Pocket clip(obviously)
• Worth the money

Additional
• Frame Lock
• 3" or smaller blade for legality reasons
• Affordable
• Quick to draw

The knife I have my eye on is the Surefire EW-08 Law Enforcement Utility Knife, its S30v and covers most of my requirements. I want to see if any of you know of anything similar, better, or more value to your dollar!

Not my area of espertise, but maybe try this on pratical/tactiical on the training forums of this site (might get a lot of active opinions.)

The truth of the matter is this:
Just about any multi-tool would be better than any single blade folder as a "do-it-all" "shtf" tool.
No matter what blade-steel you use, once you start prying, turning screws, cutting cables, scraping metal, etc..., the knife is going to dull real fast.
But with a multi-tool you can use certain tools for certain tasks and keep your main blade sharp for just cutting tasks.

I love my Spyderco Manix, and I love my Kershaw Cyclone, and I love my Benchmade 551, but the one I reach for when it's time to really do some non-cutting tasks is either my Leatherman Wave or my Leatherman Blast.

I also like my Victorinox Jumpmaster....

Kershaw Blackout. I have one in my pocket as we speak. Its been a great knife. I also always carry The Victorinox Elplorer.

That kershaw seems nice but it has 440a blade, the buck mayo I'm currently carrying is 440c and that is soft enough. As for the multi-tool, I'd rather have a folder.

I carry the Assist, especially in our local woods, for trimming thornbushes and branches. It's a big knife but works well clearing vegetation. The grip and serrations are extremely practical even if it's about the ugliest knife I own! :p

But my One-Hand Trekker is really almost as effective as the Assist and has those extra tools as well. And in the woods, the saw rules.

I just don't restrict myself to one knife at a time! :D

Size is an issue, I want to keep this next purchase somewhat compact but not necessarily micro.

That looks somewhat perfect.. compact, glassbreaker, sturdy design. I just can't read the specs, hopefully around $100 and made out of something worth paying for!

Black G-10 handles, glass breaker, over all length is 22.5 cm, blade length is 9.7 and weight is 156 g.
Cost is 179 euros which right now in this second comes to 251.337 USD according to http://www.xe.com/ucc/.

The seat belt cutter narrows it to almost none.
IMO all knives have seat belt cutters, the blade.

The Sure Fire looks like a good knife.
Worth the money?
Well,if you're well off I suppose it doesn't matter.
I'd like to have one.
I'd choose many a custom over the Surefire at the price it sells for.
A Crawford Kasper or Perfergo is almost in the same price range and is a much better design for fighting.
It'll cut seatbelts too.

Just wondering ... if both seat belt cutting and skull crushing are priorities, are you some kind of malicious good Samaritan? :)

Seriously, any one knife/tool that would fill all your requirements would likely have so many compromises, you probably wouldn't even want to carry it.
