Do-it-all or own em all?

The obvious answer is "OWN EM ALL!" But, in general, when doing fixed knife activities, as in cooking, cutting anything as long as it isn't cumbersome to use a large fixed blade (think something like buck 119 and/or buck 102), do you find yourself gravitating more towards a knife that you've purposed into a role, even if you compromise a little ease? Or are you a firm believer in one knife per task? Those of you who are do-it-all, what's your perfect do everything knife? Warthog? Compadre? Campanion? Kabar utility/USMC/dogs head? Or, maybe a big cold steel folder? (yes I know I said fixed knife, what I really meant was large knife and then remembered Lynn's video about why everyone should carry a 7" folder.) Or maybe just 2 knives? I do a lot of cooking myself, so while I have a most wanted list of around 50 knives or so, they're kind of grouped into sets, but I'm also trying to narrow down the fixed blades list to a couple for the truck, a couple for the bug in/bug out bags, a few for the camping trunk, and 2 or 3 to rotate EDC along with my folders.

This... is much more comprehensive than the companion "deserted island" thread.

The Fiddleback Forge Camp or Duke models are going to come very close to doing everything you want. TOPS knives don't get much love around here, but their product line is getting more diverse now that they're positioning themselves as an "outdoor adventures" company, rather than a "by Oper8tors, for Oper8tors" company. Somewhere between the Hornero, Frog Market, and Brothers of Bushcraft models, you might find every knife you need.

This post disappeared without a trace, I posted again, this one magically reappeared. Can't figure out how to delete the 2nd one.

If your at home you either use the best option available or better yet it’s your chance to experiment and experience how different knives get the job done.

If your out and about whatever you have with you has to get the job done. Hopefully you chose wisely.

Eh. I'd leave 'em. You're going to get different responses from the "deserted island" scenario versus the "bug out/get home/truck knife" scenario. You're never going to get complete consensus because we're an ornery, snarkey, lot, but you will at least get variety. And hey, maybe the same knife shows up in each scenario.
