Do Looks Matter To You?

Do you guys care about how the blades you purchase look? It's pretty important
to me. I don't think I could buy a knife that wasn't aesthetically appeasing to
me. Fortunately there are a lot of good looking and functional blades out there.

Don't tell anyone, but I'm avoiding Spyderco just because very few are aesthetically appeasing to me. Great knives though.

looks definitly matter to me. Theres a lot of knives that I won't buy, cause I personally think they're ugly as sin. They may be made out of the best steel and handle materials but I still think they're hideous

If the knives of a manufacturer all look the same, I might get 1 or 2 models.
Other than that, I don't see a point.
I buy a lot of knives on looks alone. I also buy based on blade steel or maker.
There is always a reason to buy another. :D

Absolutely yes. I usually end up with a lot of cheap knives just because they look neat. also:

Really? My favorite one of the knives I have is a Byrd Crossbill G-10. Looks sleek as hell to me, plus I like the heft, and the frontward curve makes it more unique.

Absolutely! When I'm looking at knives in a shop, I'm not thinking utility as the main criteria. I got those already. What attracts me are the ones that look cool. Appearance is up there with fuction and I think the knife manufacturers know that! It's like with fishing where most of the latest tackle is to attract the buyer more than the fish.

Same here. The only Spydercos I like are the discontinued c46 Lum folding tanto, the carbon fiber Stretch, and the Manix 2 (for some reason; I don't even like leaf blades, but I like the Manix 2).

If a knife isn't aesthetically pleasing to me, then I won't look twice at a knife.

Do looks matter?? Of course!! This criteria transfers over to firearms as well. At least for me.

I am buying knives only if I like how they look,
but because I want them to perform as well, I am buying Spyderco. So far I have about 70 aesthetically pleasing to me Spydercos (Caly3s, Calypsos, Kopas, Schempps, Lums, Vieles, Shabaria, Volpe, Dodos and few others). Probably will buy few more before end of the year.

Actually it is the first thing about a knife that draws my attention to it. Then I start looking at materials, size, etc.

I would not say I have any ugly knives, but as in all things, looks are in the eye of the beholder.

It depends.

For an EDC knife, which may be used around other people, appearance is quite important.

For other purposes, not so much.

i find spydercos to be beautiful knives. some of them look like feats of engineering. some of them have an evil look to them as well, like their full serrated police and endura models, as well as the civilian and chinook.
