Do most knife manufacturers who use liner locks make left handed versions?

I'm a southpaw. And I know some manufacturers such as Chris Reeve offer left-handed versions of the Sebenza. Does that hold for Spyderco, Camillus, and others?

No, not really. I haven't seen many lefthanded liner-locks.

Benchmade's AXIS lock is ambedexterous though.

The one handed sak trailmaster is a leftie linerlock. Kershaw has also made leftie linerlocks

I'm also a "lefty", and that's why I avoid liner-locks like the plague...They just don't seem to work for "us". Thank GOD for the Spyderco lock-backs!

I will never understand this. I handle my liner locks left-handed constantly, and they are actually easier for me to manipulate left-handed than right. I prefer my pocket clips on the left side of the knife too, so that means that right-handed pocket clip, liner locks would be set up perfectly for me were I left-handed instead of right handed. As long as you have dual thumb studs, or a hole, I really don't know what lefties are hoping for. I might buy a lefty liner lock for myself if I came across one. It would be easier for me to use with my right hand. Seriously.

Steve...The problem I have with (right-handed) liner-locks is that when I hold the knife tightly, the lock tends to want to release as my squeezing hand inadvertently moves the lock over to its' release-point. I just CAN'T trust MY fingers to that.

Oh. That happens to righties on right-handed liner locks too. That is a common flaw of the liner lock.

Some models are tactically designed with the liner lock depressed into the handle - you need to stick your fingernail in there to release it. Crawford does this on some of his knives and Hammond's Cruiser features this.

Otherwide, for lower cost, LAWKS on CRKT's helps out in this regard.

All of the production makers seem to have stopped making LH liner locks about 2-3 years ago. Before they dried up I found the following in new condition... Benchmade: 800SBT-LH black AFCK, 812SBT-LH black mini-AFCK, 812S-LH mini-AFCK, 975S-LH CQC-7 long, 970SBT-LH CQC-7 black short, 910S-LH Stryker, 910SBT-LH black Stryker. Emerson: LH CQC-7B SFS, LH Commander BTS. Camillus: CU21SL mini-CUDA, CUDA2L full size CUDA. Kershaw: 1500LST mini-Task, 1500L mini-Task, 1510L Random Task. CRKT: 6712L Mirage.

Most of these were already discontinued when I started collecting two years ago. My purpose in this post is to let you know what WAS out there so you can be on the lookout for them in the Knife Exchange or eBay. It makes for satisfying collecting since it is a bit of a challenge to find them. best - Lee
