Do not user intercooler for Xbox

What's the alternative then? I'm on my second Xbox 360, my first one had the ring of death after a couple of months of ownership (although I got it used).

Service is quick though. My overall service time was 1 week and 2 days, from shipping my broken one in to getting another unit.

Yeah i would much rather have a PS3 but my 360 was free because my uncle bought a ps3. Ill wait till ps3 are dow around 200 bucks before i get one :D:D

I had one and noticed more issues with my 360 overheating. I got rid of it and bought a fan to keep it cool. Works like a charm.

I wish I didn't see this post:mad: I was happy that my 360 has been functioning sans issues since I got the intercooler, now that I've read this I just know something will go wrong :(

Sorry to hear of your problems.

Not trying to say "I told you so" but I noted this in your thread in January:

It seems that since my post on that date, the Wiki has been updated to note that Nyko released an updated version that they claim won't scorch units any more. I don't know how the timing coincides with when you bought yours, but if you got the new one then I guess Nyko is still full of it.

The most troublesome thing is that Microsoft does not offer warranty service if they find signs that you used an Intercooler on your Xbox (whether you use the old one or the new one).

The Nyko Intercooler has also been reported to have caused a general hardware failure in a number of consoles, as well as scorching of the power AC input.[26] Microsoft stated that the peripheral drains too much power from the console and can cause faults to occur, and stated that consoles fitted with the peripheral will have their warranties null and void. Nyko has recently released an updated Intercooler that uses its own power source. Nyko claims this problem no longer occurs with new versions of this cooler. However, Microsoft still considers it an unlicensed add-on and will void the warranty of machines showing signs of its use. There is no data available to indicate whether Intercooler decreases the chance of hardware failure.[26]
Emphasis added.
