This morning my younger daughter, who turned 6 yesterday asks me'

"Daddy, do racoons have lasers?"

To which I reply no and ask her what made her think that racoons have lasers, "Is it because their eyes glow when you shine a flashlight on them?"

She looks at me like I'm an idiot and says no, it's because when she was playing outside when visiting her cousin they saw a racoon that was outside during the day, so they ran inside.

Ooooohhhhh, rabies, not lasers. So I explained what rabies was and to be careful, etc.

Better to have a healthy dose of misguided respect than not enough.

Only Dr. Evil's racoons have laser beams attached to their heads.

You better watch out for raccoons what have lasers. They are evil, cyborg raccoons sent from the future to eat your garbage and spread the gospel of anarchy.

A very grumpy raccoon ran right between the legs of my 8 year old son while we were on vaycay this summer in Williamsburg, VA. When properly motivated, them raccoons is fast.

No, raccoons don't have lasers.
But they want them!

Somebody shoulda opened that door and let that cat out. That would have made for an even cooler video. :D Only a very stupid cat would tangle with a racoon.

Baby raccoons are cute and funny. Adult raccoons are little mini Wolverines on a weekend bender. The few rabid raccoons that I've seen wobble like drunks, but they were in the end stages.

+1 to that. I watched my aunt's monster lab go at it with a raccoon, and it was impressive. This is the same dog that would regularly kill deer and drag them home. The raccoon got about half of the dog's face off before getting its skull crushed. That thing was a BRAWLER!

Raccoons don't have lasers. If they did this would not have happened.

When I was growing up, two raccoons got into a fight under our house one night; the phrase "all hell broke loose" doesn't even begin to describe it. It went on for several minutes, and scared us kids to the point of tears.

thx - cpr
