just curious.

Some of the others pics seem to be smooth and dont have CBTS.

Mine does. Is that normal? See botttom knife

T, I don't think they were supposed to. Maybe you got a variant ruck or an AK that was modified because of an "accident" brought on by too much JWB. :D

your the 2nd person to have said that:thumbup::D

alright, is this a JWB ruck or a regular ruck:confused::D

I believe they have CBT's just like the AK's.

They are just more pronounced on some blades than others.

My RUCK (2nd batch) is smooth, as is the AK I got last year.
The oringinal AK that I ordered the first day they were offered has the CBT.

Somewhere around two years ago the CBT seems to have disappeared. Or maybe it just depends on who hand finished the blade after the CNC work. It's impossible for me to guess if either of these are what happened or if there is some other explanation. It makes no difference to me. I still want more of them. :D

it seems like yours is not the only one I have seen with the CBT look on a ruck and AK.

I am sure some knows for sure. I thought the Ak's and Rucks had micro cbt's

what's the top blade in the first photo, with the loop at the end?

That is a Horton Knife and is 100% awesome.

Jeremy has promised to make me one:D

Many of you guys haven't noticed but he has his own forum here.

no they don't.

heres how I look at it, "cbt" or corregated bevel technology is just a milling process, wich can be acheived with a ball end mill (or by tilting the head of your mill so your regular end mill cuts out a curve instead of a flat surface,) combined with a cnc to accomplish the tip curve. the cnc will take progressive cuts along the bevel, deepening as it gets near the edge, resulting in a series of lines that show up as "cbt" "corregation".

so, what makes the jack hammers finish cbt, and the ak's not cbt? depth of cut, and thats about it. in machining terms I think it would be described as the lay direction of the cuts are lengthwise with the blade, and the roughness heigth and width are increased for cbt more so then for the standard blade finish using the same cnc program and machine.

 something like that...

and totally unrelated, look at how TINY this mill is!

actually, scratch what I just said.

my new assertion: yes, some of them do. I recalled (right after posting) that jerry mentioned the cbt on the ak47. so, I change my opinion on the matter. I think (now) that cbt by busse standards is anything where the ball nose cnc cuts are left present rather then machined flat.
