Do Schrade older knives have stronger springs / Snap

Do the older 881s and 8OTs have better snap than the knive made after 1973.
I have some NOS 8OTs 881s and 880s (pre 1973 and all in tubes), they are nail breakers to open.. Ken

I have an old USA 80t. And it has strong retention. Not so much to be a nail breaker but really just right. Unfortunately I haven't used a modern one, but I wouldn't want it any stronger /tighter. Great snap
