Do Shoulder Rigs Exist that Enable Concealment Under A Dress Jacket?

One that enabled a cross draw with an upside down presentation (not mandatory) of the khukuri would be ideal if it could be "pulled off" well. Don't know if my present favorite khukuri (18" Chitlangi) would be too large; seems like it would be... What might be an ideal carry khukuri be? I'm asking here before I pose another question to Terry Sisco. Thanks for your input... Dan :)

a shoulder holster for concealment would need to be light and slender, and above all allow for quick -n- easy unsheathing...
you may want to check Dan (Pen's) tutorial thread on making Kydex sheaths. Making a slender one without the leather 'skin' just maybe the ticket. ;)

Kenny Rowe makes a fine shoulder rig. I have one for a subhilt fighter, a khukuri being thicker might be tougher to conceal.
It will likely be as concealable as a full size 45. Which is possible, but sometimes requires help from your tailor.
Terry Sisco is the king of khukuri sheaths. I'd fly it by him first.

The link was useful for design possibilities. If I'm not wearing a thin suit jacket, I like to go casual with a leather bomber. For overcoat and raincoats, I could get a scabbard for a 25" khukuri. :D
My idea was to get a workable rig for an 18" Chitlangi, but I doubt that it would be concealed well inside a suit jacket. With the bomber jacket, it most likely would be... Any input on the ideal carry khukuri taking into account size would be appreciated, guys!

Do not carry a khuk bigger than 15 inches in the front of your underpants. It would not look credible while 12 inchers look respectable.

If I carry something now while wearing an Italian tailored suit, I have a Bud Nealy Escort drop point in a really low profile sheath that hold the knife magnetically. It can be attached to a belt, used as a neck knife, dropped into an inside jacket pocket, etc. I really have my heart set on a way to carry the 18" Chitlangi, but with suit jackets, it ain't gonna happen... :(

A couple years ago, I got a small - 14" or less - Gurkha House khukuri with an excellent kydex sheath that would fit very well on a JSP harness - like if it was made for it. It was a breakfront style that allowed a totally safe upside down use and was very discreet.
As I got it on a trade, I don't know who made it but it was a pro - that's for sure. Here on the forums, Mike Sastre or Eric (Normark) are surely able to make you something similar for an HI - a 12" or 15" Sirupati would be my pick, unless you are really big.
Maybe the sheath I had was made by one of them, too. Miss that one!

Links very appreciated. I had something like the chest sheath in mind, but with knife possibly under one of the arms.

I made a quick-n-dirty close fitting baldric that holdds my AK Bowie concealed. I did nothing more than take an adjustable leather strap with clips at both ends, run the ends thru the belt loop on the frog, and sling over one shoulder, sits snugly under the arm.

I like JJW's link, got crafty old me a-thinkin.

Ivan... Thanks for the input. I'd proabably be able to conceal a 15" Sirupati if a nice lightweight kydex rig was used. The 12" Sirupati would definitely be able to be hidden. My choice would be the 15" Sirupati, which would have about a 12" blade though... ;)

Furguson... For minimal weight, which also offers protection to the wearer, kydex seems to be the material of choice. As for carrying a concealed knife here in Italy, it's illegal unless you're out in the boonies. Some of the large cities here have problems just like any large city anywhere in the world. I can handle myself very well, but If I'm with my 5 year old son, for example, I want to make sure he will be very safe if there's an extreme situation, and I'm crossing over unsavory areas I'm not familiar with. I have a spotless record, always dress well, and have the appearance that would "pass" a profiler's glance. I've been told by friends that I would be given a stern warning only if ever caught... If I looked like a wise guy, had no visible means of support, etc., then I would definitely have a problem! :(

Ferrous... I had a rig years ago like you described, and it is about as minimal as you can get. JJW has some nice designs that would tend to hold the khukuri flat against my side when I walk. My questions have been answered very adequately in this thread; I just have to decide who to have make me the rig now!

WarrenR... Kind of like your new Avatar; one of the more original ones here on the forum. The concealed rig will be pure function; no need for leather like you say...

Thanks each and everyone of you for your suggestions. Dan :)
