I don't like tanto's for knives that are supposed to do work, but it seems like they would resist broken points better than regular throwers. Why are throwing knives not made with this tip? Is it because the tip is not centered in the middle of the blade?

I have a Mountain Steel Tanto 13 OAL 1/4 And it throws just fine . And yes the tip is stronger than a dagger. Some of the old tanto I have handled are really light with thin blades . The ends look more like a fillet knife with the tip dropping slightly , but never did throw it. I believe they used to carry fans and those were thrown more than the tanto,s. Check out Bugie,s web page for there vidio (Tantojutsu). INFINOO
