Do the coatings really differ?

Does anyone truly know if the coatings on the new BM are really different aside from color? I know some of the colors look to have more of a crinkle coat, but is that just the lighting and color of the coating? Or does the sage coat actually have a smoother finish than the black?

I really appreciate your input on this.

Yes they do, the Muddy and the Black will have more crinkle than the Sage, Green and Gray that are smoother.

I thought so, because the black coated Busses I've owned seemed a bit rougher than the sage FFBM I own. Thanks Ankerson.

If anyone knows the smoothest of the sage, green, or gray, I'd appreciate it.

The Black will have much more crinkle than the others. Wish they had a smoother version of black, but it is tough. I do love the old Tan, not really that shiney crinkle like on black, but was not very smooth.

The Muddys I have are about as smooth as Sage. The green(OD) is the smoothest I have, but the tanker grey looks about as smooth in the pics.

edit- just seen your above post...the OD would be the smoothest, and maybe the Tanker Grey. I don't have a TG, but can tell from pics its about as smooth as the OD(green).
If I'm wrong about the TG being as smooth as the Green OD someone correct me so I won't mislead the OP.

TG and OD are the smoothest, but I've long since handled a Sage blade. I would say equalness between them.

Out of black, sage and OD, my OD is the smoothest of the three.

The tan is real rough on my BATAC and real smooth OD on my NMFBM. The black crinkle is in a class of its own...its crinkly but not really rough...more homogenous than the rough of the Tan, IMO. The OD is like colored Satin....smooooth
