Do the different Wardens have different blade profiles?

Dang it looks like the .17's have a fatter (taller) blade than the .14's. The .14's look more like an AD blade to me.

I traded out my Black/DC before I got my Snakeskin, so I really don't know - but it sure LOOKS like a skinnier blade to me.

Look at the Orange/Jungle pix.

They LOOK like they have different profiles. For those that have both the LE's and regulars - ARE they different profiles????

(Not like I won't know by Wednesday, but I'm impatient.)

I haven't noticed any difference on my GW's. I think what you are seeing is just due to different camera angles in the 2 pics....

One of my black DC's has the slightly "AD" blade, whereas the other has a higher point/more belly. This is from laying them on top of each other. It might just be manufacturing tolerances though.

I'd say that they are all the same unless they are custom like the Buffalo Wardens that will be fixed.

I measured a few of the ones I had handy (a fair sample) and they are all within a hundredth of an inch as to blade hight (one inch from the handle). The only odd ones are a fat (.17) satin SMOG and the Buffalo Warden is also a thicker .17 Satin, rather than .14. I guess because Garth had upgraded the finish of the Buffalo Warden as an afterthought.

LOL

I was told that the LE I have may have been a ganza knife from last year, but I wanna compare it to the orange, jungle, and skeleton to be sure. This thing is definitely very AD'ish in shape. Not as bellied. More a hunter than a skinner.

OH I KNOW what might have happened......

Did you get it from a DUCCI?

My Snake skin is the same as the black one I had. My new Skeleton is the same as my snake skin. It's the different angles the pictures are take. Just move your knife around and you'll see how much different the blade looks.

One of my Skeleton Wardens that I just picked up in a trade is like your satin & snakeskin... much less of a belly... right around a 1/16" less. I wasn't sure where the diff blade profile camefrom on the satin & snakeskin... just that it was not the same as the rest in my collection. I guess only MBWirenut could answer where it came from... I understand he was the original owner.

So... I don't know if the diff blade profile is from how the shop grinds the sharp edge or what???

Thanks, Tony. I held up my blade - definitely almost completely AD and very little GW in this blade-shape. It just gets to the flat of the blade much quicker. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I like it!
