Do the new recon 1s have steel liners?

Title pretty much says it all. Do recon 1s have steel liners? I dig the triad lock, g10, and I'm eager to try CTS-XHP, but no liners would probably kill it for me. It's entirely a personal preference thing and not a concern about strength. I just like having the steel liners. If anyone has pictures they would be very much appreciated.

No they do not have liners. I also prefer having them myself, but the g10 is so thick its not necessary. I'd just try it out if I were you.

Thanks for answering my question. That's a shame they don't. Looks like I'll have to check the code 4 out.

I've had two go thru my hands and end up as gifts....(recon 1) stout knives. I would not let the lack of a liner deter you unless it is just personel preference.
The two men in question both use the knife hard and have had no complaints about durability.
Take care

The G10 scales are really strong, I use my recon 1 pretty hard and there isn't any flexing etc. I don't think the knife will disappoint you. I think the thick G10 is also stronger than the Code 4 handle, which already is plenty strong

I'd rather not have the liner.

The G10 is really strong and doesn't flex. I'd rather have the extra weight savings over having a steel liner in the G10. The Recon 1 is already built like a tank.

The Recon 1 is a very solid line of knives.

The lack of metal liners isn't a bad thing. G10 has been proven to be quite durable material.

I have never run into any problems with it. I highly recommend the Recon 1 line to anyone looking for a great knife.

It's entirely a personal preference thing. Knives without liners are plenty tough. They just never felt right to me.

IMO the compromise is the folding mechanism vs. a fixed blade, not whether or not this knife has a liner in the extremely rigid G10 handle.

There's a guy on YouTube who managed to break the blade on a Recon 1 without breaking either the handle or the lock. They're a tough knife without liners.
