Do these look like real Al Mars?

I'd say NO!!
The "I think" in the discription is a dead giveaway. The Quality just isn't there for an Al Mar. The photo's are also just blurry enough to keep you from reading the blade.

Impossible to tell without a decent pic of the characters used but I will say the ones one the sheath don't resemble the characters Al Mar uses as far as I can see. here is the kanji that AL Mar has always used

Well,

Al Mar was Chinese, not Japanese. The stamp (Chop) used on Al Mar products is his name in Chinese and has never changed, even though I cannot make-out the charachters in the eBay pics, I can tell they are not the same.

Just based on the quality of stitching on the leather sheath, I do not believe it is an Al Mar hand-made.

It probably is a Japanese hand-made knife.

Whoa!
Name dropping of the highest order.
The seller wrote,
"..Up for auction is this custom knife made - I think - by the Al Mar Knife Co...."

Well I don't think that the late Al Mar hand MADE knives, hls knife making qualifications made him only a KNIFE DESIGNER and not a custom knifesmith as such.

I hate eBay title spammers with a passion.

In this case, though, it looks like somebody has a no-name knife they can't identify, and list it up on eBay as "Gee, it might be this one!" to make a quick buck.

At least that's not as bad as some auctions I've seen. Every time I search for parts for my Phantom paintball marker, I come up with at least 5 listings for "CUSTIOM AUTOCOCKER PUMP **NOT PHANTOM** NEW TOURNAMENT SUP0R L337 1111!!" or a similar title.
