I am looking for a new multi tool, never had a multi tool that stood out to me. I love carbon steel and would like it on my multi tool like my pocket knives, let me know.

Thanks!

I haven't seen one, not saying they don't exist, but for the SAK/Gerber/Leatherman I don't think they've made one with a plain carbon blade.

Even the off brand or odd brand ones I've seen look stainless.

Yah I am not sure of one unless there is a customizer out there putting in custom blades. I know there are some guys who do this with SAKs but typically they are putting in damascus or super steels for the main blade. The stainless leatherman uses is actually pretty good/decent and they have been known to use other fancier steels. Their standard stainless is more than adequate for the job a multitool needs to do. The inox Vixtorinox uses is pretty good too. However, I do think it would be fantastic to have a 1095, 52100 Alox SAK Farmer... That is just because I am a carbon steel fanatic. :D

Long story short, if you really want one, you might look into seeing if a custom maker who specializes in folders would be willing to make you a blade. It probably wouldnt be cheap, but it would be the way to get it done.

My solution is to carry a proper knife along side of a MT.

Steel choices ares just the start of the problems with knife blades on MTs. There are limited grind choices, bad blade shapes made to fit into handles and lousy ergonomics. IMO, they make sense as a knife for the person who doesn't get into knives and who won't be bothered by these things.

My solution is to carry my Opinel N9 in my RFP, Micra in LFP and when needed, Blast in rear pocket (or belt holster).

What I would like to see is more MT choices with no knife blade. For me, it's a waste. Ok, that's too strong. I like the small blade on the Micra. Some times a small blade is best.
