I'm not quite up to date on what Reeve is doing these days. I cant find any hollow handle knives on their website. Also I'm trying to remember what model this is that I have. It's a hollow handle knife 4-1/4" blade, 8-1/8"overall length.

IIRC the guy who textured the Chris Reeve fixed blade grips retired. So Chris stopped making them.

Actually, it was Chris' long time friend and associate in South Africa who fabricated the knives from A2 bar stock who retired. CRK made the decision to retire the OPR line rather than find a new fabricator. Schrade currently makes a knockoff of the hollow-handle, one piece knives that is surprisingly not too bad. You can also buy a similarly-designed Microtech knife, but they are on my blacklist for other reasons.

If you post up a pic, the chances are very good one of us could identify it for you..

And no, the don't make the hollow handle knives anymore for the reason listed above..but I believe he also had just a little more to do with it than knurling the handles. (logically thinking, they would have had some lathe work done before you could knurl)

The single cross guard, jimping on the spine and sheath all make this look like a Mountaineer I.

Nice knife you have there:thumbup: since they stopped making them several years ago, the prices have gone up a lot. However, you can still find them from time to time.

That is indeed a Mtnr I, a superb little knife. :)

The Microtech OPKs are tiny, they are about (-) the size of a Sebenza. They feel like little toys and are nothing like the CR kinves.

I really like the 4" OPRs. I had some of the 5 1/2" versions, but they've all found new homes, but I have one each of the 4" knives (Sable, Mountaineer, Shadow and Aviator). Nice knives.
