Feel comfortable wearing? Or will wearing at the waist be fine. I just recieved my first Busse a (BWM), and I figure I would ask more experienced Mistress owners.

Thanks!

I'm a big fan of drop down and danglers, especially for woods bumming and when I have a backpack and other gear. Wearing the knife lower on my leg means it is less likely to get tangled in my pack straps or cloths. Another comfortable method of carry for long blades is the traditional style scabbard with a frog to wear between the belt and the pants. The second option also offers a way to carry a big knife concealed if you are so inclined. Hope this helps...

I like danglers as it keeps them out the way of your belt/pockets plus they feel a little less heavy as the move with your body !!

Danglers are good, especially when wearing them with a pack, but they can swing a lot more, even if you tie them down to your leg.

I like the open spine style sheath, like Dave Brown does, which is easy to draw whether it's on a drop leg or high on your belt on a teklok. Very handy.

I've worn my BWM LE in the 10" SY sheath. The end of the handle is on the belt, and it feels fine.

If I need to strap it to my leg I've got some paracord looped on the bottom just a bit larger than my thigh.

I've never carried in a dangler though, so I'm not sure if it'd be more comfortable...

When I want a sheath for a big knife I want leather. When I want leather I go to Chuck of Chuddy Bear. I always ask him what he feels is the most comfortable set up for the particular knife the sheath will be made for.

I would decide on a sheath maker and ask them how they feel via email or phone.

I like drop loops/danglers for BM's btw.

Good luck!

I also agree, dangler or drop down for big knives, always with something to secure it to the thigh. If it's a standard sheath, the tip always ends up dragging or stabbing into the ground when I sit, and the handle jabs into my side.

I have one of the new BWM dangler setups with leg strap by MashedCat and wouldn't go any other route.

Whichever maker you choose, go with a dangler.

Well, they are plenty comfortable carrying them on the belt. . .drawing them is another thing. Either an open-spine "quickdraw" sheath or dangler is the best bet.

This one is quite comfortable to wear.

I like them to have the option to drop-leg to get out of the way of my pack belt, but not necessarily a strict dangler.

+1

Either a dangler or an extra-wide belt loop allows the sheath to shift easitly out of the way when you sit. A more conventional, rigid belt-loop causes the sheath on anything over about five-inch blade length to poke into whatever you sit on. Especially noticeable when getting in and out of a vehicle.

The dangler option is very good for larger blades like the Bushwacker, and with a few extra straps becomes a multi carry rig. :)

You can still do a high ride carry if you keep it as a cross draw rig. Rapiers were carried with this basic method and they are a lot longer than the Mistress. Cross draw allows a more diagonal pull making it easier to get the knife out of the sheath.

I've got one of your sheaths i bought secondhand off the exchange with the dundee strap. Its pretty versatile over the shoulder on the back, or side. Take off the dundee strap and you've got a dangler. Take off the dangler piece it just snaps off, and you've got a higher ride type rig. So its got it all and very well made.

Leather or Kidex is more durable? did a bigger ring is better to use as dangler? with the dangler a leg strap is not a choice? mean (should have one if you had to run)...?

Gonna try to break this down for easier answer.

#1 Kydex or Leather, its essentially a personal choice, what you prefer is what you will buy. :)

#2 Dunno, the ring size I don't think means much besides what fits the rig. If you want a bigger ring than what it shown I am sure the maker will provide one. :D

#3 With a dangler rig, a leg strap is highly suggested, otherwise said rig will hurt you if you let it swing around too much.
