Do we have a Cold Steel equivalent for the Becker BK2?

I was trying to think here for you on what CS would have to be an equivalent... And, while I can't remember there being something like that in the CS line up, (which may change now with GSM)... But, I then thought to myself, "what about OKC?" Ontario Knife Company is based in NY State, as is the maker of Becker Knives, (Ka-Bar).
I know the OKC has switched a lot of their USA made models from 1095 carbon steel to 1075 carbon steel, but the consensus seems to be that, while the edge may need touching up a bit sooner here and there, their toughness has somewhat improved. Anyhow, they (Ontario) used to make a lot of knives that fell into the same outdoor knife genre that Becker/Kabar often were involved in offering... Just a possible alternative that maybe you could look into. OKC used to offer quite a few USA made outdoor/woodsmen type knives in the 1/4" steel blade category.
Another USA maker that would likely have an equivalent, would be ESEE, but the pricing would be a little bit higher. They do make some 1095 high carbon steel knives that are considered to be tough and consistent in their edge holding... Definitely a quality American knife maker.
Good luck 👍

PS.
If Cold Steel ever chose to expand their 'Drop Forged' line, I'd bet they could come up with some great competitors to knives in the quality Becker line-up.
They would no doubt be a bit heavier, but that drop forged method and tough steel combination, sure could be the foundation for more outdoor knives from CS.

Drop forged Hunter springs to mind? 5mm thick blade and 4" long blade, so not quite the 'equivalent', but a very hardy and capable knife.
I'm sure if they (Cold Steel) chose to, they could fill that spot between the 8" Survivalist and the 4" Hunter. A 5" or 6" knife would be a great prospect.

They are a little less than a quarter inch thick, but the closest thing Cold Steel has to Becker knives would be the Warcraft series.

On a related subject, I've seen rumors that the 1095 Cro-Van used by Kabar is the same steel as Carbon V. Does anyone know if this is true?

That's interesting. I knew Becker used the same steel as Carbon V, but thought since Camillus closed they switched to another steel since the steel was no longer available, but they kept the same steel even though they were bought by Kabar.

So anyone wanting "Carbon V" can still get it, but just not in Cold Steel designs.
