Do We Need a Stolen Knife Gallery?

How about a "Stolen Knife Gallery"? It could include pictures and all relevent information. Potential buyers could check it before buying a nice knife from an unknown source such as eBay. I realise that most stolen knives end up in the hands of drug users and degenerates but sometimes these folks sell their stuff to pawn shops where it could get picked up by a collector. You just never know. I would love to return at least one stolen knife to its owner. Of course it would be bad for the seller. Just an idea.

I think this is a pretty good idea. Especially where high end knives are concerned. The real owner would more likely have pictures and be able to prove he/she really did own the knife!

It wouldn't really work for production knives, but customs and other unique knives could be tracked on a list like that.

This sounds like a good idea. A sticky at the top of the regulary gallery forum would probably be all that would be required for something like this. I hope that there wouldn't be enough stolen knives to warrant a forum dedicated to this topic.
