Not sure what your point is. Can you provide some examples?

And perhaps more importantly, man, if you're getting all torqued out over stupid stuff like this, maybe you need to just kick back and have a beer. Or two.

The majority of time when browsing the forms I use the new post option. By that all new posts come up in the search. The problem that I seem to be running into more, mainly in the exchange sections is that someone will close or withdraw and make that a new post so here I am looking at the original thread only to find out when I scroll to the bottom that they withdrawn the item. My point is don't make a new separate post when what you want to accomplish can be done through editing either the original post or another in your thread. Does that make sense?

yep it makes sense, but oftentimes i'll just hit last post or newest posts and i would miss that edited first post. Sometimes i'll start at the top b/c it's new to me or just to remind myself what the post was about, but not always.

so i do both when it's me. edit the title so that SOLD is in there, edit the post so that SOLD is next to the price (and DON'T take down the price d*amnit, i hate that :)), but i also put a last post that says 'sold' or 'traded', so the 'go to last post' people are also covered. if you saw SOLD in the title, you'd skip it anyway, right?

of course, a good salesman wants you looking at the knife, wanting it, THEN seeing sold at the very end after you've already decided you want it. then you jump on his next one early, or remember his name, or even contact him for your own custom. that's just smart salesmanship.

i'm with samael. drink more. that's my answer to everything, though, so i might be biased. or drunk.

Actually, if everything in a sale thread is gone, lock the thread, edit SOLD into the title, and put a final post on it. As gentlemanndvm says "i'll just hit last post or newest posts and i would miss that edited first post."

Too Much Work. Most sales just end and the seller walks away. We could make a big deal of it, but there comes a point when people will be more irritated than educated by us doing this.

This can only be done after clicking on a specific thread then clicking on last post/newest post, correct?

On a list of threads, click on the little circle on the left (Go to first new post).
