I don't believe i horoscope but I find star signs amazing.

My wife is a cancer and she is everything a cancer should be.

I never cared for this stuff but recently I do. an ex girlfriend got me into it and I am hooked.

I believe in star signs - when my wife slaps me in back of the head and I see stars it's a sign she's pissed! :D

I am fascinated by the fact that many otherwise intelligent people are convinced that the movement of distant objects through the visible sky is responsible for the course of human events. As for personality traits, I would imagine that it has more to do with pygmalion than anything. Now of course, we all know that the Runes are the true way of knowing oneself...

Here's a little experiment that James "The Amazing" Randi used to do:

He'd have a confederate come in to a college-level psychology class to announce that some research department had come up with an "amazingly accurate" computer-generated horoscope.
He'd solicit the cooperation of the class, who would be asked date, place, and time of birth (the usual horoscope criteria).
The fellow would take the information and dissapear for a while. In due course, he'd return with the horoscopes, which would be carefully passed out to the correct individuals.
Invariably, the class would be amazed at the accuracy of the personality assesment.
Then, the "researcher" would ask the class to exchange papers, and it would become apparent that they were all identical....

I'm more like my Chinese Zodiac (Boar) than I am like my Western Zodiac (Leo). I do fit my elements, though. Metal for Boar and Fire for Leo. Go figure.

I'm sure it's not just an Asian thing but like most meat-and-potatoes, college-degree holding, 21st century-living folk, I can't and won't accept that my fate/destiny is held by something other than the decisions I either consciously or unconsciously make in my life. Such is what God allowed us.

And yet, with regards to the Chinese (Lunar-based) Zodiac, I find that a striking number of characteristics or "touch points" do exist or relevant in my life.

The thing is though, I try not to be bound by them. I regard them as mere reference points or helpful tips. We all have our own desitinations yet it never hurts to ask directions once in a while.

No, nor the tooth fairy or the flying spaghetti monster. ;)

 WHAT!? The tooth fairy isn't real? Then who was that beautiful young woman in the skimpy clothing that I kicked out of my room last night because I didn't have any loose teeth????

Most guys would have knocked out one of their teeth so she would stay...

That made my brain hurt.
How many people believe in god but not other superstitions?

About the time I found out the truth about Santa Claus I abandoned any belief in any mythology, including all religion.

All of those descriptions the astrologers put out are so general that they fit everyone to some exrtent.

The minute it is regarded as SUPERSTITION, therein lies the conflict.

Maybe I'm too simplistic as to how I approach it but again, how I regard them are just guides or references. . . if you're open-minded about it which I personally try to be.

People bet on the Lotto even if the odds are "astronomical". "But at least there's a chance I'll win?" is their driving motivation in spite of the odds.

Religion, superstition, mythology, cult or whatever, although fundamentally different are all BELIEF SYSTEMS underneath. It's all up to the individual how strongly he/she believes in them.

Edit: I'm still referring to the Chinese Lunar Zodiac

I don't believe in any of that...

Being a double capricorn, the strong influence from Saturn has made me a skeptic.

I can't speak for anyone else, but whenever I would scan the local paper for "my" astrology prophesy for the day, I could barely make half of the paragraph even come close to fitting my own personna. However, it could be easy to see someone gloss over the parts that don't fit and focus in on the stuff that matches... There is always something that matches. Feel free to have someone cut out the daily prophesy of each sign, but have them leave out which sign is which, then try and choose which is yours. I predict if you practice that enough times, you will find about a 8% accuracy.

There is a Fortune Teller next door to a business I frequently frequent. The sign on the door of said Fortune Teller reads, "Call xxx-xxxx. We are right around the corner." Indicating the shop is empty until you call. Seems to me a true fortune teller would know when business was approaching and would be waiting inside the business before you approached...
