Do you call dealers or rely on site updates?

In the thread about whether dealers are selling a lot of knives these days, there was an interesting quote:

I know some like Bladeart get so many calls looking for certain knives that alot of their inventory never even gets posted on the site.

Do people here call dealers to get on a notification list for specific knives? Are all dealers receptive to doing this?

Hi Joss,

I find it is always better to email or call dealers. More and more dealers are pre-selling knives, especially from the popular makers. Some dealers who work with many of the better known makers have lists of clients waiting for these knives to come. Consequently, the knives never make it to the site.
