do you carry a companion knife

I carry my Leatherman Juice S2 in my pocket everyday and found that Gerber EAB (razor blade knife) makes a great companion. Other times I will carry a Kershaw Leek, SOG Twitch 2, or a Buck 110 on the belt.

I have looked at some slippy's including a few SAKs, but I would need to move the leatherman or the new knife to the belt or find one with a pocket clip because I already feel like I carry too much down in my pockets.

Do you give your multitool a daily companion? What MT do you carry, and what friend do you drag a long to keep him company?

Usually the combination is a larger SAK (Alox or 111mm) and the companion knife is mostly for the scissors because I find them handy. So like, a 58mm SAK or keychain Leatherman.

Along with my Leatherman Wave, I also EDC a ZT 0301...Both in nylon Leatherman horizontal belt-sheaths. (I "adapted" a LM Nylon Surge sheath to fit my ZT 0301, and it fits/works perfectly.).

My usual edc is a sak and a large trapper pattern slip-joint. Sometimes the trapper is replaced with a lockback and or a 3rd slip-joint is added.

The combinations depend on the situation. In daily life, if I carry a large multitool like the Leatherman Wave or Charge, I add a small SAK to it. The Victorinox Cadet or Executive for example, for the light tasks.

I carry a Leatherman Super Tool 300 everyday, but I use my Benchmade 940 much more than it. The Super Tool is there for just in case things, the 940 is there for general purpose cutting. If I am expecting to do heavy duty work/cutting, I exchange the 940 for my Endura.

Absolutely!

I've been rotating between a StayGlow Compact and StayGlow Climber. I always have my StayGlow Rambler on my keys.

With my SAKs, I have a Spyderco of some sort. I've been rotating between a Manix 2 in CTS-XHP steel, a CPM-M4 Military, or a Krein Regrind Atlantic Salt.

i mostly bring any one hand openable folder to complement my SAKs... and a small classic alox as a backup of my backup knife... yup... its as silly as it sounds...but better have backup than not in my book.

My normal workday tool is a Spirit X, I'll always carry something in my pocket to go with it; a 1-2 layer SAK, traditional folder or small OHO all depending on my mood.

I always have a folder with me because the knife on my Vic Midnight Manager is too small for certain tasks, and my SOG Pocket Powerplier is configured to be knifeless.

I usually carry either a Spirit X, Super Tinker, or Alox Soldier with a Paramilitary, Kershaw OD-1, or ZDP Delica, most for ease of access to the blade since I use it most and if I need to do a lot of cutting I have a steel with better edge holding abilities (para and delica).

Right now at work I carry my Supertool 300 on my belt, backed up by CSAR-T in my pocket. I always have my Soddie Jr or my farmer for my small knife tasks. I also keep a style cs on my keys for those tasks that require a scissor.

There's always room for a SAK. Move that multi-tool to your belt and save your pocket space for other goodies.

Depending on what I'm doing for the day, I'll rotate between a SOG Paratool, a Swisstool X, a P4 Squirt, Gerber MP400, or a SAK Huntsman. I always have a regular knife with me. Of late, I've been carrying either a Kershaw Skyline, Boker Subcom, or a Boker Wharcom. Once in a while I'll carry a stockman pattern slip joint, either a old Schrade or an old Buck.

Of course. I have a Leatherman Wave on my belt, mostly for cutting nasty/dirty/potentially edge damaging stuff. A small SAK with standard and emergency blade for fine/paper x-acto cutting and either a ZDP Caly3 for food/general cutting.

i usually carry another small fixed blade or pocket knife. Also, I carry a vic classic on my keychain. That's the knife that I lend out when someone asks to "borrow" a knife. Don't mind if they mess up that one.

i may have to pick up a classic. it was the first knife i ever carried when i was younger and i dont have any idea where that particular one is now.

Move that multi-tool to your belt and save your pocket space for other goodies.

i moved my leatherman to my belt a few days ago and started carrying a buck 309 from my stash. it's brought back the slipjoint love i used to have. might have to find a larger version of a slipjoint...

this is how it begins. :o

There is always a small companion knife/multitool to whatever else I carry as complementary to what the main one lacks. When it's a Charge or Juice, a Vic Rambler goes into my jeans watch pocket. An OHT, Tinker, or Delica calls for a Micra, although lately a Squirt PS4. I can't remember the last time I went out with just one.

As of yesterday I started carrying my first expensive knife I bought: the little" Big Trendy Fox" by Fox Cutlery

Might put it back though cause I think I have enough with my Farmer and Classic:)
