Do you carry a photon with your knife?

There is one all all times on my keyring (black case/yellow light).
"Don't leave home without it!"

Keep it with an M4 Sebertool. That way it is already seperate from keys and knife. It is too hard to try to shine the light and position the key or knife with the same hand. Light in left hand and whatever else in right. I like the white as it doesn't throw off the color of things, but keep and orange around for the longer battery life. I think the orage gives off a better/brighter light than the red. If you are really trying to preserve night sight, go with the red. Other wise white for true color viewing and orange to keep some night sight and get longer battery life.

I always carry a red photon II. I have it connected to my keys by a little "caribiner"-type keychain, along with a small SAK, or my spyderco ladybug. Makes it extremely easy to seperate the two.

I can't tell you how many times the photon has saved my butt. One time, I was at the mall, parked underground, and ALL the lights went out (as in pitch black). My 4-D cell Maglite was sitting on my desk at home, so it was up to my photon. I was able to find my way into the mall AND avoid getting hit by a car.

I find it useful on a regular basis. Mixed with a good knife, it makes an excellent combination.

. . .a knife. . .and a photon ~ just not attached or connected to each other. :D

My wife got me started with the photon thing. Mine is attached to my "Heineken" bottle opener. . .that is attached to my key ring.

Black case ~ white light. . .

What a cool compact light source ! :D

I like my white light - I use it maybe 2-3 times a month, but every time I do, I'm so thankful it's there!

Thanks for the replys!
I am looking at the photon II white light. It has on off switch, one of the brightest lights, and 10-12hr battery life. They are so cheap I might have to get a few!

Though it changes with my assessment of what I'm doing (sometimes I have more lights than keys on my "key"chain), right now, I have a black case white Inova Microlight on my keys, next to a red Photon II, and a green Traser Glowring. The Photon is for anything that requires a constant on, usually close-up tasks, and is red so it's not as attention grabbing. The Inova is white and bright for more general illumination (finding my way around in the dark, etc.), and the case is molded around the LED so I don't get back scatter into my eyes. The traser is mainly for finding my keys if I drop them, though I have found that on a good night, if I block one side of it, and hold the other side against the paper, I can slowly read a book or diagram.

Of course, I also have one or more several other lights stashed around, such as an ASP Sapphire (very bright) on a belt loop, or a CMG Infinity in my backpack (great for emergencies, as it with a spare battery gives you over three days worth of light, if not the brightest light).

Turquoise on my keyring, lights up a pretty large area. Also just picked up an orange, exxxxtra long burn time.

TNT and white Photon II.

On my keychain I have an SAK type knife and my brand spanking new microlight (white/bluey light). It is like the Photon II. These things are awesome. I have a Blackhawk keyring which is two loops of mylon that clip together using a fastex buckle, and there are rings on each loop. My keys are on one end and my knife/light are on the other end. That way if I have to lend someone my keys or something, I don't lose my knife and light.

By the way, my SAK type knife is just a backup to my AFCK.

Got a white Photon II on the keyring, another on the kubotan, and thirteen more in a bag that are going out as little Christmas gifts to the few remaining friends/family I haven't already given one.
Everybody needs a Photon:)

I don't leave the house without a photon II. I have one (with a mini SAK) clipped to my keychain at all times.

I carry a photon-like like light on my SAK rucksack, which I carry in one of Normark's excellent neck sheaths. I have a mini ferro rod attached to the sheath and a length of paracord hangs it around my neck. It's a great little survival kit!

Two of them: white and red, for whatever the occasion might be. White for true colour and red when it's smoky, pitch black, dusty. Always connected to keys and Micra. Plus, having two could increase battery life if ever a really bad situation arose.

I've got a blue Photon on my Leatherman Micra in my pocket at all times.. It's bright enough to walk through the woods or a dark garage littered with neck breaking junk... and the blue color is great for getting someones attention from a distance. Something about flashing blue light that catches the attention of anyone you aim it at. I have even used mine in resturants to catch a waitress's eye.

I also have a white Photon on the zipper pull on every jacket I own.

The blue and green/blue Photons are supposed to be the brightest colors... while still giving long battery life.

I also believe that a Photon in white or blue is bright enough to dazzel a would be attacker... It could give you a split second to take the first shot, just don't miss and piss him off real good!

I just ordered the Inova White Lithium Light. Anyone know the battery life on these? I cant find this info. Any difference between the different colors as far as battery life?
