just curious as to what, if anything, you carry in the handle of you fixed blade chris reeve. i just got a project I and have'nt decided if i want to put anything in there, and if so, what. 'goes without saying, different folks and geographic regions might call for different goodies, i'm just curious.

I guess that would be a no, huh? Too bad, I would like to hear this as well. I mean, if no one is putting anything in them, then Mr. Reeve is obviously going to a lot of trouble for now reason.

I keep a small metal match & several Spark-Lite firestarters in the handle of my CR Aviator. (These are not intended as my primary means of firestarting, merely a back-up.) One of the best suggestions I've heard was to keep some rolled up some money in the handle.

You may want to search both the Chris Reeve & Wilderness Survival forums here on BF. I know this topic has been covered before.

How about a shot of rum? It sounds like the perfect place for it! If the poop hits the turbines, and you have nothing left, you can at least celebrate your life!

Got a buddy who's in serious contention for most useless item in the handle of a survival knife...he keeps a length of brass round stock in the cavity.

He told me he figures that he'll be more likely to be carrying it in an urban situation than a wilderness one, and he uses his P1 like a roll of quarters when he punches...

I've always wondered about the wisdom of doing something like that...y'know? It seems like, sure, you're hitting with a solid mass, that's pretty weighty, but it's still wrapped in your fingers, which would (I imagine) tend to smash nicely in this sort of a maneuver. Anybody tried it? How 'bout some of you rough-and-tumble lads out there? Ever wasted $10 of quarters?
