Do you carry your EDC to the gym?

The gym must be about the only place where I DON'T have some sort of knife on me.

As soon as I get to my locker I unclip it and put it inside.

I thought of carrying something small like my Delica or Pointguard IWB but just never have. I find it a little constricting in the weight room.

If you're one of those who carry inside the weight/cardio/aerobics room how exactly are you carrying your knife?

While i dont work out per say, I work as a shipper and am lifting stuff all day, I move over 10,000+ lbs of computer cases/speakers/etc. every day so I find no need to hit the weights I do always have a knife when i go through my martial arts routine. Actually when i do that a knife is about the only thing i have on me.

If I'm wearing pants, I have my knife. I feel naked without it. Sounds dumb, but I'm sure I'm not alone with that feeling. So, yes, I do wear it in the gym every day that I work out. My gym shorts have pockets, so no problem of where to carry it. I guess the only time I actually have shorts on without a knife is when I swim, and that is just because I don't want it rusting ;)

I'll go you one better, since I carry a knife even when I swim. Either a Ti blade BM 970ST or a plastic clip delica. The delica holds up just fine if you rinse it real quick whenever it is convenient (within reason).

When I do go to the gym, Which is not nearly enough, I go to a local Air Force Base, I leave my knives in the car. They can be goofy about that sometimes, Plus I trust my knives in the car more than I do in the gym locker. I don't think I ever seen anyone on a treadmill with a knife clip sticking out of there attire, But if I did, LOL, I would have to introduce myself B/C thats one hard core knife knut, Or a Nut all together.

I always carry a relatively cheap folder that goes in my locker and I won't cry over loosing if my lock is broken and stuff taken. While working out, I carry my most important keys (locker lock and car) on a ball chain around my neck, along with a utilikey which is then the only "blade like" thing I have with me when I'm actually working out.

Just left the damn thing on the locker room bench while I was changing and walked out without it... It probably resides in some lucky bastards pocket right now. It was brand new too... carried two weeks, opened and closed a lot of times, never got a chance to cut anything with it yet, not even a piece of paper.

Nowadays, I change at home and go straight to the gym. I wear BDU pants, or regular shorts to the gym so I have everything I need for the street with me.

I mainly run as excercise and since I do it outdoors
at night I usally carry a folder, ASP Key Defender
and an 6Z light.

I exercise outdoors too. Scott Fulford neck knife and at times Cold Steel medium voyager. works for me.

lately, during the summer, mostly biking/running, and carry my nealy pesh kabz in a MASS system sheath, or a buck/strider 880 tanto.

when going to the gym carry a spydie delica in my pants.....clipped to the top of my nylon athletic pants waistband, works great under sweats, could carry anything really, if i wanted......

Knives stay in the locker while I'm in the gym. In 27 years of weightlifting, I've yet to need a knife while training.

Used to didn't. But ever since I had to run back up to my locker to grab a knife to help the cute little blond girl shorten a universal machine belt, I've tried to remember to carry one every day in the weight room. ;) When I run during the day on the base, I rarely carry a knife. When I run after hours on the base, or elsewhere anytime, I generally clip a 551 Griptilian IWB.

My goal is to always have a blade on me. The only exceptions would be restricted areas and when I'm in bed (in that case, knives--and a gun--are just a step away).

My LadyBug always resides on my keychain. Yes, there have been times it was my only blade, when I forgot an EDC.

When I used to attend the gym, I always had a knife, usually a Delica or Endura clipped to either my pocket or my waistband (on the treadmill, I would usually stick it there for better "motion control" to borrow a phrase from the sportsbra :) industry). FRN knives shine in these situations due to lightweight and lower cost. Never had any comments about my knife, except once, when someone did indeed think it was a pager (!). That was when I was entering the pool...

Yes, I always carry in the pool. AUS-8, 440C, and GIN-1 (G-2) steels seem to work well here. Rinse well in tap water after swimming.

When I was attending a wedding in Charleston, S.C., I stayed at a slightly seedy Motel 6 in a slightly not-so-nice area of town. It was the end of the summer (fall, actually), and I was glad that pool was open after my loooong drive. I had my then-EDC BM large Ascent on me. It made for a much more comfy swim after dark!

Remember that knives are primarily "tools." If anyone asks, that what you say it is, both because it is the legally smart thing to do, and because it is invariably TRUE.

I have cut many, many things in my life, but I have NEVER cut another human being. My knives have always been used as tools, not weapons. Even the Gerber Mk. II fighting knife I took to Saudi as an MP was only used once--to cut commo wire!

Now as to cutting my OWN flesh--well, you guys know the deal...:)

When I attended, I also used a nice selection of knives to place out on the bagel table at the gym on Fridays (bagel day). They were much superior to the thin plastic "knives" which were provided. One day a mother used my Bladeforums black ti Sifu to cut a bagel for her daughter! "That's a nice knife" was her comment. :) Sometimes the world just seems so...right. :D

While exercising I generally carry one of several neck knives which I purchased in the last two years. Since a major part of my exercise program is running, these knives all are quite small and have sheaths which are very secure.:)

I always have a civilian clipped to my waist band when I work out.
Hell you never know when someone will drop the bar on their neck and need an emergency traichiomity (SP)

You guys who carry in the gym are dedicated! :)
I used to leave my EDC's in my locker until my stuff and other guys stuff was stolen once- my Letherman supertool and a Endura, gone:mad:
Now I leave my gear in my car.............

Haven't spent much time in the gym this year, but I have always carried a folder on me, usually clipped IWB of my shorts/sweats. My CF ArcLite (neck knife) changed all that, and doesn't get in the way except on the bench-then it goes on the floor with the watch and keys. I carry my keys around, too, rather than leave them in a locker, or on a wall rack out of my sight.

I have a home gym. Nothing fancy, just some free weights, a bench, a power cage, and a stationary bike. A knife or two is always close at hand :D. For security reasons when I travel I always try to get a hotel that has an exercise area or I'll just work out in the room (Arnold Schwarzenegger has hotel room routines in his books).

Carry my Native IWB on every trip to the gym. Been doing this for a long time and never had a single problem.
