I see a knife I just have to have. I just know it's gonna be my daily carry for many years. I do whatever I have to do to get it.
Then.......
I have it a few weeks, maybe a month or two, and while I still love it, I see another knife I just have to have. I just know it's gonna be my daily carry for many years.

My name is dave and I'm a knifeaholic

Every knife I get is the ULTIMATE KNIFE,until the next new one arrives. So says my wife. She also says they need to be kept locked away in one room not all over the house. It's just hard for me to go from the bedroom down the hall and into the den without stopping to pick up and admire 3 or 4 old friends along the way.

I try to make it a rule to only make a knife purchase if I think it is better than the one I bought last! Problem is, there is always a better knife that I hear about shortly after I just purchased a knife!

In constant search for the perfect knife

It's only a mistake if you fail to learn from it!

Now I'm a knifenut too, but I'm different from you guys. I KNOW that whenever I buy a knife, it'll only last a certain amount of time before I decide I want/can afford another. Usually a year. Right now is that time, so while I'm here, any opinions on CRKT's Apache?

I'm waiting for my elected (not by me!) representatives in the government to help me out. Hopefully it won't be long now before Feinstein, Boxer, Schumer, Sarah Brady, Clinton, Gore, Bradley and all their buddies get together and pass legislation limiting me to one knife purchase per year. Finally my wallet will get the break it needs. I mean come on, does anyone that uses knives for "legitimate" purposes really need more than one a year.

Oh, I almost forgot, if you're not already a member of the NRA, please become one quickly. Believe what you like, but when the day comes that we need an NKA, it will already be too late.

All the time. My solution is to carry multiple knives around. That way the old ones still can remain your daily carries while you get a new one to use and admire. The problem comes when you run out of pockets . . .

Never really happens to me. I see a knife and think its going to be my daily carry knife for the rest of my life. Then I see another one I want, but I can't afford it, so I'm stuck with the one I already bought. I'm still working on replacing my Smith and Wesson SWAT, I thought it would be a decent low cost daily carry knife, but I was so mistaken. The lock is weakening quickly (centers perfectly, but it is still weak, the springiness of the liners is just messed up) and the blade dulls too fast. The handle just isn't right for me. Three months ago, I cut off 3/32" from the tip of my thumb and it took about two weeks just to make it stop needing a huge bandage. It still is quite sore when I use it. Then another time the blade I was opening the knife and thought the blade was already out and I moved it funny and the blade rebounded teeth first into my middle finger. I'm now stuck with this SOB knife for probably another year. What should I get to replace it when I get enough cash? I was thinking about the BM-350, but it felt flimsy. Well all I know is I don't want to get stuck with my S&W for the rest of my life. A Gigand Summit would be a significant improvement.

Hrmm I think I found what I'm planning to replace my cheap S&W SWAT with. What do you guys think about the Benchmade Mini Stryker?

-Chang the Asian Janitorial Apparatus!

Of course, I do it..... (and yeah, that striker's a great knife., but you can get a great one for cheaper, think CRKT) But my excuses are far more elaborate. I try to by better knifes or different shapes because they will come in handy at different times. I still keep coming back to the good old clip point, though..... but I use a wharncliffe in the office and a solid fixed blade in the wood and a..... you get the point.

Yup.
My old Busse blades, Livesay Little Pecker, HI Khukri, and Spyderco Military. Thought that would be it.

Now, I'm looking at other blades from the same companies and other blades from custom makers.

Aren't very many CRKT's in my area. I have to buy locally because I'm too young to have a credit card or a checking account. The ones they do have I do not like. They have the KISS and the PECK that is all. So annoying, I can't get those things to open, hurts my thumb.

Hey Chang!
Those convenience stores that you see on nearly every street corner sell Money Orders for about $.89 cents. If ya can't find what you need locally, go for the mail order, Dude! The knife itch MUST be scratched, sometimes by whatever means one has available.

Yeah, money orders are everywhere, I used to get mine from grocery stores. Ya could get a cashier's check from a bank too, mine didn't cost anything, I don't know if banks have different rules about that though.
