Do you find yourself using larger pocket knives during the colder months?

I tend to stick with knives that are easier to open when it's cold outside like some of the modern folders that are bigger than my traditionals. I find that they are easier to work with in the cold.

Absolutely! Also some of the larger knives don't carry as well if you're wearing shorts.

My hands become less flexible and mobile so I find myself using less of a knife like a peanut or a smaller traditional and moving towards the Bucks or Spydercos during the winter. I use them throughout the year but less the smaller traditionals and more the others.

You might consider a small pocketable fixed blade. No moving parts to manipulate.

Ditto on carrying large folders all year round. I live in southern California anyway, so the "cold months" aren't exactly glove-wearing weather. Plus my job requires me to wear long pants all year round, so there's not much pushing me towards smaller folders in the summer.

I'm not a small knife guy, but yeah I tend to carry the larger of my knives when I have more pocket real estate during the colder months.

Winter here is not really cold, but I still tend to carry bigger knives (and guns) than in summer or spring.

I tend to use a lot more traditional folders and fixed blades, carried in my jacket pocket.
