do you grind cutting edge first?

when grinding does it matter if you grind the cutting edge first before you grind the blade? then grind into the cutting edge? or do you do your grinding first and the last thing you should grind is the cutting edge?

Break the edge and walk the grind up. You don't want to grind a full sharpened edge first. You'll need to leave the edge thick before HT and then work it down to the cutting edge after HT.

I grind the plunge at the edge first to establish the plunge line. Then I grind from the tip back to the plunge from the edge working up to the spine. Don't grind the cutting edge until after the heat treat.
