I've owned alot of knives. Used alot of knives. Have really enjoyed alot of knives.

Then came the Sebenza:rolleyes:

It's in my pocket everyday with that sturdy clip peaking out just saying "come on, lets find something to cut". I haven't left home without one since buying a few. Seven days a week it's with me and when I shower it's on the medicine cabinet, when I'm sleeping it's by my bed sitting on the table waiting for me to wake up.

It's my EDC taken to the extreme. My kid says Sebenza when he sees ANY knife, when I'm frustrated at work my boss just looks at me and says "Sebenza" in an attempt to make me smile ...and yes it works!:D

You get the point, I'm crazy:p

So, I've noticed when I purchase a non Sebenza knife () I keep expecting it to feel like a Sebenza!

If the knife has no clip, I still reach for it in my pocket...even when its in a leather belt sheath.

When I open a new folder I expect to hear that "click" and feel that smooth glassy goodness.

It doesn't take away from the enjoyment of other knives. I've gotten some GREAT ones since the Mighty Sebenza. It's just that I can't stop comparing every step of use to that of ....you guessed it, the Sebenza (what's that, the 80th time I've typed Sebenza? )

So do you all find yourselves comparing other knives to your Sebenzas to the point of carrying a Sebenza AND the new one(s)? or am I as crazy as I think I am?:p

I compare all folders that I get to my Sebenza and now my Insingo. I got my first Sebenza at Blade 2011 and it has been carried more than pretty much any knife I have ever owned. I get distracted sometimes and buy Striders but at the end of the day they go by the wayside and the Sebenza/Insingo is what ends up in my pocket to tackle all my EDC chores.

I fought it for a long time. As a matter of fact, I was selling a HK P7M8 and expressed an interest in partial trading for knives. This guy brought a bag full of Sebenzas and Busses. He showed me a small and large dog paw sebenza and some micarta ones. I shrugged them off as I wasn't interested in a $3-$400 pocket knife. I was happy with my Benchmades and Spydercos. I ended up getting a Busses AD and cash. I wish I could go back in time sometimes. My first was a large insingo. Carried it to Blade last year and looked at the CRK booth. I determined the small was too small and didn't like the Umnum for some reason. I met Tim and was blown away by how nice he was.
I now carry a small insing or an Umnum everywhere. I have 7 Reeves knives. I still have others, but only one BM and one spydie. Do I still like BM and Spyderco? Of course! They just don't reallly get used or carried like my go-to's.

I owned a barry H customized large sebenza before, and sold it last year. It was an awesome knife but I didn't find THE knife that really screamed for me until I got the small sebenza today. Everybody has their preferences in blade length and type of a knife, but it is seriously perfection in every way.

I've had a hard time finding a dedicated EDC, but I think I finally found it.

Im the same way.

My wife is actually getting mad at me since I have my Sebenza in my hands at all time, just sitting on the couch, driving down the road, laying in bed and even using it well at work!

It never leaves my side.

Life long companion.

None others compare.

The only one that came close was a Lochsa. Which felt better but I couldn't get a hold of Scott to save my life which made me nervous just invade there was an issue.

If I email Crk I've got a reply the next day or a personal phone call.

Good - Better -Best
Chris Reeve never let's it rest
Until the good becomes better
And the sebenza becomes the best!

I compare all folders to the sebenza. Mainly the large regulars which I feel is the finest folder ever designed. I have folders from tons of makers. Buck, Case, Spyderco, Kershaw, Boker, Schrade, Western, Benchmade, Hinderer, Dozier, Strider, Gerber, Galyean just to name some off the top of my head. Obviously all these are not High End, while some are in the same price range and even higher than the sebenza. NONE compare.

None have the fit and finish ( the galyean is mighty fine I will add ), the quality feel, the simple makeup, the ease of teardown and cleaning. I could go on and on, No folder out there compares to the large regular sebenza.

There's a reason I put this in the CRK room

Today I will be carrying two folders. Yes, one of which will be a Large Sebenza :p

Thanks for sharing guys, now I know I'm not the only one spoiled by CRK!

CRK has definitely spoiled me. Now everything else is second best. And to have the Honor to talk to the man himself on the phone and to hear the passion in his voice about his products. It just speaks volumes. CRK fan for life here.

I've only had my small micarta insingo for a couple of weeks now, and it has completely taken over as my edc. My blue PM2 has not seen the light of day since I got the insingo. The Insingo is always with me weather its in my pocket, night stand, desk, dinner table, etc. I try to keep it in my pocket when my non-knife carrying friends are around so they don't think I'm a freak! lol

I feel that I need to experience a large or an Umnumzaan to complete my Chris Reeve experience. I'm sure I will end up with more than one, but If I had to only keep one folder it would be a CRK folder.

I'm gonna echo what has already been stated. Since early 2006, a CRK folder(mainly the Small Regular) has been my primary EDC. I opened a package containing a custom knife(in my case a Kevin Wilkins), inspected it and decided before I even put it down I was gonna sell it. I knew 100% it wasn't going to replace my Sebenza and it was time to acknowledge I was a CRK fan. That's not to say nothing has come close, but for me, I've yet to come across another knife that has done it for me like the Sebenza. I still look for a possible contender, but if the past is an indicator of the future, it's looking like a CRK will continue to be my EDC.

Don't worry I feel the same way and do the same things, were all sick in this forum and the only cure is more CRK's of course :D

Definitely. There are other good knives... but the Sebenza has certainly spoiled me. When compared to the Seb, every single knife I've owned leaves something to be desired. So far, out of... geez... probably 70 knives owned, the Strider folders are the only thing that come close for me. Even though I'm currently EDCing an SnG (w/ new improved lockup), the Sebenza 21 (Lg. OR Sm.) certainly is "the one!"

I think CRK pays a small team of Zulu witch doctors to cast spells into the blue cloths, rendering the customer spell bound during the initial unwrapping process. A little known CRK fact is that the spa treatment consists of blasting the scales, lubing the washers, sharpening the blade, and a ritual tribal ceremony that involves dancing around the Sebenza and lighting a sacred fire to insure a knife that last a lifetime...

...well either that, or they just make a hell of a knife backed up by an amazing company with amazing employees :p:thumbup:

Hmmmm....Im going to go with number 2! Lol

Riverrat and guys I have found an awesome alternative slip case for a large or small sebenza instead of buying CRK's, that works perfect. Fits tightly and amazing. Not all of us get a slip case shipped with ours. This is a way to save a little, plus free shipping. It helps for our EDC purposes to protect our loves! haha Let me know or PM me for the info.

I use CRK knives as a benchmark of what I consider a quality knife. If I buy a custom knife and it isn't as good as a CRK I end up not liking it and it's usually sold.

You guys are a bunch of knife freaks!! Just like me. Lol I carry a large micarta insingo everyday and when I want to dress it up a bit I carry my double lug CGG "eyes" awesome knife. Ive owned everything from a sanrenmu to a strider sng cc. And I always go back to my Sebenza. I like them so much I sold off my entire case xx collection to buy them.
