Do you guys think one could dye tan G-10 into a dark burgundy/red wine color?

Specifically, the tan 20CV Yojimbo 2? I have this comin' in the mail, I really would like to make these dark-red scales. But, I am unsure of how G-10 takes dye so I thought I'd ask here. I know darker colors are easier than lighter colors, so tan to dark red, dark purple, burgundy... seems more doable than other stuff. It is just the material that gives me pause. What do you think, do this, or maybe try an FRN model?

This was desert tan. I used brown rit dye. This was the outcome.

Oooooh, that is really nice! Fantastic job. That is a very similar color to the tan Yojimbo that I am getting and makes me very hopeful for what I can do...

Maybe I should try on a Coyote Brown RAT1 that I have, I don't need those scales anyways because I am replacing them with some special wooden ones, so I can experiment. The only issue is that it is made of Nylon 6 and not G-10, so I don't know if the ability will translate, but can't hurt.

And... am I tripping because I've been looking at a bunch of purple, or does it look almost purple?

Remember to use the Rit dye that is marked for synthetics. Tan should be easy to dye to dark reds.
