I currently don't have a favorite pattern, but am definitely partial to the jack configuration with one blade smaller.
I also like a nice slim pen pattern, though the vic pocket pal is my only example at the moment. And 3-1/2" is a good Max length for an in pocket traditional.
I love having the primary blade for most things, and the smaller blade occasionally comes in handy for certain things.

So if you have a favorite pattern I'd love to hear what it is and why.

I am exactly the same way. I have no particular pattern that I like, I like traditionals in general that have a single blade although I am partial to a slightly larger blade say a GEC #77 over a #15. I shyed away from multi blade knives due to the bulk until I received my #35 HJ, and now I too have fallen for the slim "pen" style knife.

Mine is a medium serpentine stockman with rounded bolsters, Turkish clip, and jigged bone. I've tried a lot of others, and I just keep coming back to that one.

I'm a scout pattern fan in a major way. Over half of my collection is probably scouts. My first knife was a scout pattern. I was once a Boy Scout. Everything about these knives intrigues me, and resonates in my history.

Great question I really like and carry a lot of different patterns but if it came down to one it would be a Barlow. I love the way they look and feel in your hand.
Here's an older picture of some of mine the amount has grown since this picture was taken.

I am very fond of at least half a dozen patterns. If I could only collect one pattern and only one from here on out it would be the barlow without question.

Single favorite? No, not really. I tend to alternate between 2-blade jacks and 3-blade stockmans as my most often carried pocket knives, though sometimes a single-blade knife makes it into the pocket.

I'm a Peanut man, myself. I've yet to find anything to compete with its size, comfortable ergonomics, and punching power. Even my TC14 loses out a bit to the mighty Peanut because of its (excessive?) weight.

I've only got one Barlow that I carry, but could definitely see the being a one and only pattern for me.
Then again I could easily say the same for a peanut.

I like square end stockman patterns. I will toss in cattle knife pattern also as the Diamond Edge style. Why? Cause that's what grandpa and dad carried and what I grew up carrying and knowing as a knife. So it stuck. Next in line is a tie for single drop or clip points followed closely improved trapper.

Not a pattern per se, but I prefer single blade slipjoints more than any other.

Wow !!! Another head scratching question or poll . I probably have 3 favorite patterns . One for Collecting . One for carrying to feel good . One for just being a great User .
For collecting it would be the BARLOW .

For carrying to Feel Good is the GEC 72's , 73's & 74 style in Stag

And for a great User is this old Swayback with 2 blades . Sheepsfoot and Pen . It is a real handful and absolutely the most comfortable knife that I have to use . I need to find another one like it so that I can retire this old thing .

Any particular reason that old swayback needs retiring ?
Looks to have decades of life left in it to me.
I believe that it was made prior to 1891 , but I may be wrong . I would really like to keep it in very nice shape for leaving it to someone some day , but it is very useful to have in my pocket .

For using/carrying? Scout knife, no contest for me. Beauty and a functional Beast all in one, and they will grant access to your favorite brew :D.

For admiring, Barlows. And HOLY COW are there some absolutely gorgeous examples here on the Porch. (Not saying they aren't functional :) ).
