Do you have a favorite way to desk display that favorite slip joint or vintage lockback?

I built this horseman's knife intending to take to the Blade show and decided I wanted to try my hand at making a desk top display for it.

Made from a solid piece of black walnut, with ivory around the perimeter , (pre-ban piano key tops). I turned a oil bottle out of brass and made a stopper/applicator topped with a piece of ivory.

Purchased the quartz clock that was mounted on the base of a office pen holder.

For me it was fun diversion from building knives and I think added a bit of interest to the knife.

I would love to see pictures of how you might display your favorite knife or knives in an open setting. Home built, store bought, makes no difference.

Really classy display, Ken!!
I'm a "wall-mounted" aficionado, preferring shadowboxes and the like!
This one sits over the piano, under Joanne's woodblock prints!!
If you look carefully, you will see an Erickson in there!!Dining 3.jpg(7th from the left)
Ha Ha!! My desk is too cluttered to do justice to a display!!

My Empire display in 2010 - now the property of another fan!

I kept asking Nettie if my horseman display was "cheesy", I think I drove her nuts, LOL.

I was hoping to see that Empire display again! I remember when that deal was in the works for you if not mistaken.

How are the knives kept in place in the shadow box when it's on the wall?

The Empire display is all wired-on, with coated florist's wire!
For the rest, I lined the box with 10ga. galvanized, and use permanent magnets!!
Makes changing them out pretty easy!!
Here's another!!
Some of the boxes, like the one below, are inexpensive commercial shadow boxes; the others are handmade oak and cherry!!
