Do you have a knife that you don't mind flicking open roughly?

ZT 0200. I've done everything that has ever presented itself with that knife and it still functions just fine. :)

My old cheap chinese knives. My folders though can handle it and I am comfortable flicking most of them open, but I try not to if I can help it. Most Kershaws I flick open and Spydercos if I can. Those two are still more of budget knives though. Usually I do not see a need to "roughly" flick open a knife so I do not that way unnecessary wear will not be place on the knife. I do think that companies should not have a problem with you flicking their knives as most of them should be built well enough to handle it.

Most benchmade knives I own. The axis lock is designed for thwacking, and Benchmade customer service will repair upon any issue!

...Plus insane speed! THWACK!

Agreed! No sound compares to a metal on metal collision! My barrage makes a violent sound :)

ZT 0350. I don't even need to flick it open hard to hear a loud, satisfying thwack. The strong assist does that for me.

Only the one Frost Cutlery knife that I still have from my days as an ignoramus and never carry anymore. And to be fair to that knife, it's held up to a massive amount of abuse.

My Michael Raymond Estrella makes a much louder and more satisfying thwack opening it slowly than any other knife I own flipping or flicking open. I don't use wrist action ever because I'm not an abuser of knives.

Yeah, I agree. I'm fine wrist flicking any of my AXIS lock knives. I've done it for so long and never had any issues arise.

I don't understand the "flicking" thing. I have a number of assisted knives that open very fast. It seems to me that they impact the stop pin (or whatever) at least as fast as a manual knife that is flicked open. I like to open my Manix 2 very fast by putting my thumb in the blade hole and flicking the blade open as if I was shooting marbles. It opens fast but doesn't impact the stop as hard as my assisted knives do.

But as for knives that I flick open, I do this occasionally with my ZT 0561 because sometimes it takes a little extra wrist action to open the blade completely. I have the full size CRKT M21 that I flick open because it takes a little extra to make it open.

no knives i edc need wrist action, and I flick all of them. benchmades are made for that

My Emersons and Benchmade Contego, although it opens so easily (and still has no blade play) that I find myself limiting my wrist action to try not to abuse it.

I've got so many more knives than one person needs (not wants!) and rotate them so much that any abuse that would happen will not be a problem. It will be the responsibility of the person who gets them after I die.

So far, no issues whatsoever with any of them. It's handy, and I like the sound at times. :)

Not really flicking more partially opening then "throwing" out the blade on my RAJAH I. I never tire of it. You can hear it in another room and honestly sounds more like a firearm then a knife. Then again that's a massive blade.
On the other end of the spectrum my thin light benchmade 530 is a fun smooth flicker, I got that one down fast as a switch....(faster)

Sebenza!
Just kidding:D

I flick all of my knives, but none of them really need more than minimal wrist action, so I don' t whip any out with excessive force.

A little wrist action on on my cs recon 1 and strider sng but very minimal. My Spyderco gb and Benchmades I flick open but no wrist action necessary. Same with the lionsteel Sr1a.

I dont open it with wrist action as there is no need and it just puts people in danger but my 0600 from ZT is a great contender. It has a wicked detent and there is literally no way to get the thing to miss fire. When that thing opens getting the mail the neighbors heads lift up like deer to a twig snapping.
