Do you have a screw loose?

I certainly don't!

I've been trying to remove the clip on my new Spyderco Dragonfly II and it seems to be impossible.

There are three small screws holding the clip in place, and just by attempting to turn them, my screwdriver has worn the crosses away on the screws.

Nice knife...low quality screws!

What can I do now? How do I remove the clip? Can I get some more screws? Should I even bother?

Those are loc-tite in there...sora like a glue.

You might break the screws before you get that clip off. I think if you put some gun oil on the screws and let them sit overnight you can dissolve the Loc-Tite, or loosen it up.

If you get the screws out and want new ones, I am sure Spyderco sells them. Give them a call.

If you have messed it up too much, you might just want to send it to spyderco and have them do what you were going to do to it.

Loc-Tite is reactive to heat, you can set a soldering iron on the end of the screw until it's a little warmer than is comfortable to touch and they will loosen right up. If the screw is too messed up you may want to pick up a broken screw extractor from the hardware store for ~$10

You can also use a heat gun, lighter, propane torch or almost anything that will heat the screws up..

Any screw will strip if it's held in with Loc-Tite, so it's not the quality of the screw really.

Once you get them out call Spyderco CS and they will send you some replacements I'm sure.

Thanks guys. I never thought they'd glue the screws in!

I'll send Spyderco a request for some new screws once I get these ones out.
