Do you have any info on this Imperial slipjoint?

I found this knife outside over 25 years ago. I couldn't tell who made it with all the rust, but with the aid of my scanner I can tell that it is an Imperial. I've only kept it around because of the metal handle. I haven't seen too many metal handled knives around.

It's an old Imperial Peanut, or serpentine Jack, I think. (Depends on the length.) These were made with a plastic material over the "jigged" looking steel handle. The bolsters were left plain.

If you go into the Collector's forum, in the Schrade section, you may find some info on Imperials. (Schrade owned them, or they owned Schrade, at one time.) The one you have there is a great user, those blades were generally made of very good carbon steel.

I have one of those! I may use it to break in my son to knife care/use. If he can keep it for a year, and learn how to sharpen it, I will let him shop for something nicer.
