I looked at the spyderco military but don't care for the walker lock.

Would like a flat blade or high not so hollow blade. The spyderco endura's blade is too hollow for my use.
Manix is too heavy.

I also would like an opening hole or stud, not a flipper or a notch>

Nothing too heavy or tactical.

Your input is appreciated.:)

Actually the new Spyderco Endura 4 has a flat grind, not a hollow grind.

Another knife you might want to check out is the Benchmade 710.

if the manix (6.1 oz)is too heavy the rukus (7.7 oz) will be too

Id say check out the benchmade 710 (4.5 oz)
as allenC said the endura 4 (3.6 oz) is flat/saber ground
also look for the discontinued benchmades 805 TSEK (4.1oz) and AFCK (4.3 oz)

the 710 is the best choice. It is a large folder with a slim profile. It is long, slim and symmetrical with a strong construction and a versatile lock. If you are used to liner-locks or back-locks the axis-lock maybe strange at first, but with a little practice the axis-lock can used launch the blade into open position or snap it close. I've had my 710 for a week now and I'm really happy with it. I did a lot of research before I bought it.

Yeah... like everyone else said, it really sounds like you're describing the BM 710. And D2 is a great blade steel.

I think you should try the Military, I never liked liner locks until I bought a Military, now I have no problem with a well made liner lock. The Military is probably the best example of a well made liner lock.
