I got this knife recently, and don't know much about it except that it cleaned up pretty nice and took a good edge fairly easily. It appears to be stainless steel. I'm not sure of the wood...maybe oak or cocobolo?? It has great snap, and real good fit and finish. It has seen some use, but has a lot of life left. It is about 3.75" closed. It has a nice warm feel and rides well in the pocket. I gave $11 for it.

I was wondering if some of you have one of these, or if you could help me learn the approximate age, and maybe what steel Kabar would have used for this model.

Thanks. :)

KA-BAR in the late 70's introduced a line of slipjoints with brass bolsters, wood scales, and stainless blades. They were made (I believe) by Camillus since KA-BAR had stopped making knives by that time. Your knife is one from this series - steel is most likely 440A.
