Spada di Lato and Spadroon are?
I heard a Spadroon was a large lightweight claymores, also know as a "sheering swords"
but I have no clue on what a Spada di Lato is though.

"Spada di Lato" is Italian, it means simply "Side Sword."
The term is sometimes used to describe certain Italian cut and thrust swords of the late 1500s.

For a good example, go here.

See Model number 2161

The term "Spadroon" applies to both a technique ("Hanging sword" in some circles) and two varieties of swords.

One was a Small Sword (usually military) with a rapier like blade of about 30 to 32 inches and a minimal (usually some sort of D-guard) hilt. It was common in the late 1700s.

The other was an earlier (probably mid to late 1500s) Cut and Thrust Sword or "Light broadsword" depending on your sources.

It's one of those many terms in Sword History that's been used, over-used, and mis-used. Tough to get a solid handle on.

If you were hoping for a more exact answer, it's worthwhile to note, that we here at BFC today can't agree on exactly constitutes a Bowie knife. Why should we imagine that knife knuts and sword swingers of the past fared any better?
Some things never change.
