Do you like the "JAZZ" look? Rainbow look?

I think that most of them are pretty attractive, and ones like Kershaw's Leek can be nice 'gent's folders' that won't set people off when they see it. For me, paying the extra money doesn't make sense as all my knives are users and, while I like a good looking knife, if I have a choice between a good looking user that is 3/4 the price of a 'WOW!' knife but has the same useability attributes, I'll take the plainer one.

Having said that, I struggle every day with the urge to buy a custom knife or two just for their beauty and composition. They most likely wouldn't be users. So far I haven't succumbed to the temptation. :)

I think the rainbow-look is pretty cool, though it depends on the knife and the particular anodizing job. Most rainbow Leeks, Chives etc... look cool, but there is one at my local store that looks pretty bleh.

The jazz-look... yuck.

I have a stepbrother living in 'frisco. His mother sent him a purple T-Shirt (among other things) for christmas. He sent it back... Express... with a thank you note.

as far as knife finishes go, I just think they're kinda loud. don't really see much use for them. I've seen customs with the rainbow effect, but they are art, which doesn't really count.

I'm going to have to say no to the rainbow look, but I do like Jazz finishes on some knives. Anodized Ti is still the best though, especially GOLD

i have a jazz godfather & rainbow sog;its nice to switch from black or grey to color once in a while............

Yeah, I dig the colorful knives, more sheeple friendly. I like the rainbow spyderfly at least, and the Kershaw ones. Not the sogs though. And the Protech jazz handles are the cat's ass!

The rainbow thing has definitely gone too far... I saw a Sig handgun this weekend with a rainbow colored slide :barf:

For blades, I do NOT like black, rainbow, or any other coating. I want to see the metal, and also be able to maintain its finish myself.

For handles, I'm open minded, but I'll judge each one on its own. Generally, I don't have a problem with intense colour....especially if it attracts a lady or two! :D

I don't like it. I looks cheap to me. Why cover up the beautiful materials the knives are made of?

No i dont....but i also dont care for very "tactical" looks either.

just give me a caly jr. or sak or ka-bar folding hunter "dozier design" and i am happy.

same w/ fixed blades... i prefer traditonal looking like BRKT, or gene ingram.

I like the look of the Jazz and the Rainbow Leek, they're very attractive (sort of like fishing lures:p ).

Bright colors makes alot of sense when using a knife in the woods or the garage also, as black or camo tend to be difficult to find if you lay them down somewhere.

if you have children, they're curious enough about tools. Especially the boys. I dont know how you explain to a three year old that this is daddys.

Kershaw, Sog...
