Do you like the multi-tool which I design?

Hello, everyone!

After saw so many multi-tools and multi-knives, I am not satisfactory to them, because some tools have this feature but haven’t that feature. So I try to design the perfect multi-tool in my opinion. After several months, I finished it. Because I want to apply for patent, I am very sorry that I could not show you about the blueprint. But I can tell the features about the tool:

Size: length=95mm, thick=24mm, width=26mm
Weight: Above 8 oz
Features:
1. Needlenose Pliers (with regular pliers wire cutters and hard wire cutters) like Leatherman wave.
2. Adjustable wrench (opened 18mm)
3. One hand open big Knife (blade length=75mm, width=23mm, thick=2.5mm)
4. Serrated Knife (blade length=50mm)
5. Wood/Metal File (with Diamond-Coated File)
6. Saw
7. Scissors (blade length=60mm)
8. Awl
9. Chisel
10. Bottle/Can Opener (with Stripper)
11. Large bit driver (with two double-ended interchangeable screw bits, three screwdrivers and one Phillips).
12. Small Bit Divers (one double-ended interchangeable screw bit, one screwdriver and one Phillips. The bit can be removed from the tool).
13. Ruler
14. Tweezers (length=60mm, width=4mm, bigger than SAK, removable)
15. Toothpick (removable)
16. Pins (removable)
17. Lanyard Attachment

In fact, the tool has more than 22 functions and can be used as box wrench. Do you like it? By the way, which feature do you think should be included or not?
In addition, all tool except the removable tools can be locked.

I like that you included a wrench . Something that you might consider in this or another design , something that only a few other multi tools have done . Is to make the tool in such a way that it can be taken apart so that it would be possible to use the wrench and the screwdriver at the same time in conjunction with each other .

Think about it , most of the time when you use tools there is a bolt/screw head with a nut on the other end so it needs something to hold/grasp/drive on both ends of the fastener . Just a suggestion for your consideration .

Hi Zhasl! That sounds like an AWESOME design! Now you just need to get Leatherman or some other big manufacturer to buy your idea after you get it patented. Or are you planning on manufacturing them yourself? I wish someone made a Multitool that provided a Base tool, Pliers with an empty body, and you could buy the tools you wished to include so you could custom design your own tool to YOUR specific need! That would be THE ULTIMATE! SOG is close, with their Hex Bolt construction allowing ease of disassembly, but it would be great if you could build your own tool from the ground up! I Know, "Dream On!" (Sigh...)

Thank you very much!
I am considering your suggestion.
About the multi-tool, most of tools can be open outside.

Hi Zhasl ,

The adjustable wrench in your design , is it the traditional screw adjusting type ? Or have you considered a spring loaded self adjusting wrench ?

It is traditional screw adjusting type. The spring loaded self adjusting wrench is not a good designing in my opinion.

Sounds really good...almost too good to be true!

Hoiw do you get all that stuff inthere and keep the weight down?

What kind of steel is it?

Will

If the big knife blade is of ATS34 or something like that, and the bit holders take standard bits, I will get in line for one!

Hey....that sounds just like the one I designed......except mine has a lighter, a flashlight and a satelite phone...... Just kidding....sounds like a great tool, cant wait to see the prototype.
